Does anyone know his current status, namely when he'll return to the court?

Did he have off-season knee surgery?

Don't know, but I do think they Kings are a better team without him. I concede that he is a talented player, but just doesn't sack up.

This is what I find on ESPN on Webber:

"On Jan. 12, F Chris Webber had his first fullcourt workout since June knee surgery, the Sacramento Bee reported. There is no timetable for Webber's return, but the Bee speculates he might return to the lineup by the All-Star break in February. Webber also faces a probable NBA suspension because of his off-season legal issues. "

The Kings are doing great without him (best record in the league). However, they need him in the playoffs to get past the Lakers and everybody else.

Kings are definently not a better team with their top scorer, rebounder, and assist leader out. What happened when they had Webber in the playoff's? They stomped the Mavs. They probably would've beat the Lakers with him, but obviously with his absence they were not able too.

The Kings have some great depth on their team (as in previous years) but they don't have that standout player that they'll need to drive them deep into the playoffs. Many teams don't start playing til it's down to the wire anyways, which could explain their record this early. They'll *need* Webber in that line-up if they want to contend with a team like the Lakers (whom I hate!).

They can be a better team and should be a better team with him, but the problem is they rely on him too much when he is there and get away from their great team game that they play when he isn't. That is what I mean.

Plain and simple. They need him. When Webber got injured during the playoffs, the Kings could not advance to the next round.

I think during the regular season, the Kings can get by without him. Come playoff time, when everyone is playing every other day and you need extra bodies, the Kings won't survive long without him.

Brad Miller has saved this season for the Kings by drawing defenders to the post and leaving Bibby and Peja open on the perimeter.

If C-Webb doesn't come back this season, don't expect the Kings to get past the second round.

yea..he had a knee injury and will try to be back soon...but screw Cwebb and lets talk about allen iverson...have yall read his new book that came out last month...its hella good,jeremy
