Most Balanced Colleges
We know there are some schools that are only good in one sport, and suck at the others, but what schools do you think are the most balanced sportswise?
1. Maryland 2. Florida 3. Texas 4. Virginia I have Maryland on there because they have had pretty good football and basketball teams and also have decent lacrosse and soccer teams. Florida has dropped a notch in football ever since Spurrier left, but I think they are pretty good at swimming or whatever as well. Texas is the school with a bright future in football and basketball as well as baseball. Virginia is another school with a pretty bright outlook. High hopes for their football team, perhaps they will be able to grab some good basketball stars and they're lacrosse and soccer teams aren't bad either. |
Texas is #1 man, #1.
our football team went 11-2 last year and is ranked top 5 starting this season. baseball team won the natl championship last yr and reached the final four this yr. (always ranked high) men's basketball reached the final four.(always ranked high) women's basketball reached the final four.(always ranked high) softball team was ranked and went 50-13. (17-1 big xii and big 12 champs). 2000 Eddie Reese* 2001 Eddie Reese* 2002 Eddie Reese mens's swimming and diving national champs. volleyball went 22-8 last season. soccer went 15-5-1 last season so, texas ROCKS! PLZ PLZ PLZ dont go off reciting what your team did in 1972, we only care about recent events. |

What? -_-. I'm talking about current events, I don't even know the histories of those schools, just current events. -_-. Btw, before TJ Ford came along, they weren't really that good. And they weren't always ranked high: http://www.texassports.com/mainpages...103102_20.html "AUSTIN, Texas -- The University of Texas men's basketball team has been ranked No. 5 in the ESPN/USA Today Preseason Top 25 Coaches poll, it was released today. The Longhorns are one of four Big 12 Conference teams selected in the Top 25, joining Kansas (2), Oklahoma (3) and Missouri (18). This marks the third time in the last four seasons that Texas has been ranked in the coaches' preseason poll, as UT was tabbed No. 22 in 1999-2000 and No. 22 in 2001-02. The No. 5 ranking marks the highest spot in the coaches poll in UT history. The Longhorns reached the No. 11 position on Nov. 28, 1999, and on Dec. 2, 1996. It also obviously marks the highest preseason ranking in the coaches poll in UT history. Texas was tabbed No. 15 in the ESPN/USA Today coaches poll prior to the 1996-97 campaign. The No. 5 ranking also is tied for the highest ranking in any poll in school history. Following a 14-0 start to the season, the Longhorns reached the No. 5 position in The Associated Press poll on Jan. 26, 1982. It also marks the highest preseason ranking in any poll in UT history. Texas was tabbed No. 6 in The Associated Press poll prior to the 1978-79 campaign, following UT's NIT Championship run in 1977-78." Btw, I'm not trying to be biased, I like Maryland, but I'm open to what you have to say. :). |
that comment wasnt directed at your post.
i was meaning toward future posters who might go off on past achievements. |

Don't forget Pitt!!! Pre-season football rankings generally in the top 10 (or #11) and pre-season basketball ranking will probably be in the top 5. Go Panthers!!!
