The one I missed

Last night I went to watch my team Chester City play a Dutch premier league club in a pre-season friendly. My team scored a brilliant goal and where was I; getting a drink!

The number of times I have thought nothing was happening on the pitch only to be caught out by going to the toilet or even leaving a few minutes early. I was wondering is it only me or is anyone else this unlucky?

Happens to me all the time at baseball and football games. Sit there for 2 hours and nothing happens, go take a leak and they score!

It's a running joke whenever I am watching a game at a friends house. If it's in overtime, the leafs invariably score while I am grabbing a beer or taking a leak.

You need beer men in the stands. At most of our sporting events here in the US, they have vendors in the stands that can bring you your beers and whatever else you want. As long as you have a healthy bladder - you are all set.

Of course in my pinko state of California, they don't bring beer but they do bring everything else. Most other places they do.

There is a funny Nascar commercial where a guy is watching the race and casually changes the channel. Then one of the drivers walks into his house and yells at him for doing it and missing him spinning out his car at 120mph. The point is the same, as soon as you look away, something wil happen.

Is this soccer we're talking about?

The game I saw was a socccer match but I was just looking to see if anyone else has the same sort of luck as me with whichever sport they follow. Just out of interest in the Uk we always refer to soccer as football and find the term soccer a strange one.

I was at Cal Ripken Jr.'s 2130th consecutive game, and he hit a home run. I got to see it...on a TV monitor in line at the concession stand...
