Tim Duncan proved he was the best player in the NBA tonight, easily. Triple double in game six (2 blocks from a quadruple double) tells me that he's surpassed Shaq's lazy ass. Nets just collapsed late and the Spurs lit it up. Awesome game.

Oh, can't wait to see Jason Kidd in the black and silver next year.

Finally, the best and most deserving team wins a championship. Wait, that's been happening a lot lately.

The best TEAM won? I can accept that Tim Duncan may be the best player, but the Spurs as best overall team? I don't buy it.

As a Lakers fan, it pains me to say this, but a healthy Chris Webber means a title in Sacramento this season.

Tim Duncan was awesome last night, but the best team did not win.

Or the hardest working...

Maybe nice guys DO finish first.

K-Mart looked awful - and that's enough to doom the Nets. I wasn't surprised when their lead slipped away - if you have a lead in pro basketball you pound the ball inside for some easy ones. Instead, with K-mart being containted, they shot low percentage perimeter shots.

I'd rather see Jermaine O'Neal. I think he would make the Spurs better than Kidd. They could use his height/physical playing style.

I wanted Mutumbo to win (I am a Hoya fan), but hate every other Net especially Kidd. I am not a huge Spur fan, but I would take them over the Lakers if I had to pick a team to win.

Well done Spurs. You guys beat my team, and you earned it.

I am imagining them next year with Elton Brand at 4 and Duncan at 5.. imagine that! The best offensive rebounder and the best defensive rebounder on the same team. They are gonna give the Lakers a big hassle yet again.

Tony Parker isn't the man. I've been a Spurs fan all my life but it's obvious that Kidd would make them the best team in the west. Parker might become a good player in the next few years but right now he isn't near as good as Kidd is. Where was Parker in games five and six? If I'm the Spurs I pick up Kidd regardless of how well Parker played but I wouldn't trade him because he is going to be good on down the road.

I'm not surprised, I figured they'd take it in six myself. K-mart did play like crap when I was watching. I'm the spurs won for no other reason than David Robinson got to retire right after getting a ring. Thats gotta feel great. I just wish Stockton could have retired the same way.

I can appreciate the work of Tony Parker under pressure, but did anyone notice Speedy Claxton playing his way onto the floor during pivotal moments late???

He may not be an all-star, but as a free agent, he's played himself into a nice financial increase next year.

The Spurs need to step up big in the free agent market. Malik Rose, Danny Ferry, Steve Smith, Steven Jackson and Kevin Willis just won't get it done again next season.

Go Spurs!
Unbelievable as it may be, I've actually been a Spurs fan since the beginning, and not just since they won the other night. Tim Duncan is absolutely the best player in the league, without a doubt. Tony Parker IS the man, but I'd still like to see Kidd convert, but I'm kinda doubtin thatll happen. And I do believe the Spurs are the BEST team, bar none. And get 'em Admiral, just like Elway baby! Thats awesome.

The thing with the Spurs, they have enough money to spend the maximum, AND get someone else. Imagine Tim Duncan, Jermaine O'Neal, and Gary Payton in his final season (on a cheap contract) just tearing apart every other team just by defense alone.

Another player to watch is Reggie Miller. He's old and looking for a title while he still has the ability to hit the clutch three.

Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage, three flies landed in each of their pints. The Englishman pushed his beer away in disgust. The Scotsman fished the fly out of his beer and continued drinking it, as if nothing had happened. The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!"

what a fluke! every team that went up against them got crippled by injuries! it was either the team's franchise player (webber/nowitzki) or in the lakers case, an entire position taken out..... they had brian shaw playing small forward for god's sake! all it takes is 1 or 2 games like that and there's no coming back for a 7game series!

It seems that Tim Duncan cheats cause he is too good.
I didn't really agree that Duncan was the best player after the regular season (maybe KG or kidd), but he justified it during the finals.
