NBA: Predict the moves on July 1
Well, here's some wishful thinking.
Elton Brand -> Spurs Michael Olowokandi -> Denver Karl Malone -> Lakers Andre Miller -> Seattle |
Jason Kidd - Golden State
Karl Malone - Dallas |
Elton Brand: Spurs
Karl Malone: Mavericks Scottie Pippen: Lakers Jason Kidd and Jermaine O'Neal will resign with their respective clubs. |
Scottie Pippen: retirement
Karl Malone: Mavs Jason Kidd: New Jersey Jermaine O'Neal: San Antonio Andre Miller: I have no prediction here. But he may be a bargain for someone. |

Wishful thinking? Are you wishing for the Lakers to get Malone over Brand? Do you think Malone is a better fit for them...or a better financial fit for them??? |
Jason Kidd -> Spurs
Karl Malone -> Lakers Scottie Pippen -> Mavericks Jermaine O'Neal -> Pacers (Resigned) Andre Miller -> Denver Michael Olowokandi -> Spurs Or at least I hope that's how it goes. I wouldn't mind seeing Pippen or Malone land in San Antonio though. Pippen doesn't really fit in but Malone would fit in great since he's willing to sign for the veteran's minimum to win a championship. Either way, if the Spurs pick up Kidd they're instantly the favorites to win it all again. |
Karl Malone is a much better fit for the Lakers than Brand. Sure, Brand is a better player at this moment, but Shaq owns the middle. The Lakers need a PF who can knock down an outside shot.
|
J-O'Neal: Spurs
Andre Miller: Indiana Malone: Jazz |
After listening to his latest interview, I think JKidd is heading to the Spurs.

Seriously...can the Mailman put aside his pride to run the floor in Staples?? |
Parker stays with Spurs
Kidd re-signs with Nets Malone to Dallas O'neal (Jermaine) to Spurs |
I watched Sportscenter tonight and their analysts think that all the big name free agents will go to the team that can pay them the most. They CONSISTANTLY decided in this manner for several questions that were asked of them regarding this very topic.
I'd like to believe players like The Mailman and The Glove have made enough money in their years to be satisfied with a veteran's minimum and a shot at the title. |
Malone will almost definately sign with a contender for the minimum or very near it. Payton is different though, he could still play a couple more years, so if he wanted the money he could sign a one or two year deal for a lot with a bad team, then sign with a contender his final year.
|
Jason Kidd - Spurs (Lakers also have cap room, and a veteran exemption left, don't rule that out)
Malone - Lakers Jermaine O'Neal - With robinson gone, Spurs. Pippen - Lakers maybe? No idea, maybe Dallas. |
No, Lakers are way over the luxury tax.. we dont have room, but since we're over, might as well bite the bullet.
|
As long as the bulls get a small forward who can play defense, i'll be happy
|
I was under the impression after this season they weren't over the cap, or tax, whatever the hell you wanna call it. Jim Rome mentioned somthing about it a couple weeks back. Maybe I misunderstood. I know he did say they did have a vet exemption left, when talking about Kidd. I guess thats why I was under that impression.

i am telling you right now jermaine oneil is staying in indiana
the pacers will pay enough they will make it happen they need him |
O'Neal isn't taking a major pay cut if he gets the maximum from someone else.
If the Spurs go to him, he'll seriously consider. However, it will be interesting if the Spurs lay off and don't sign anyone this year (or just sign cheaply) and wait till next year when they could sign KG. |
Oh man I would SO love to see them sign KG!
|
I think Payton stays in Milwaukee, with Jordan about to purchase the team. Could be a good move on his part.
