Signed 1994 or 95 Angels Baseball...what's it worth?
Actually, I have three of these. These sigs were obtained on a training day at Angles stadium while the Califonia Department of Forestry was doing something with the angles and Smokey the bear. None the less, I know the sigs to be authentic beyond a shadow of a doubt as my mother is the one who obtained them.
The balls are Smokey the Bear 50th anniversary signed by some of the California Angels in 1994 or 1995...I can't remember. Who exactly signed them, I haven't a clue. Anyone know what I can expect to get for them on ebay? Also can anyone tell me who the sigs are from? Here's the video I made of one of the balls: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/CIMG5990.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/CIMG5989.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/CIMG5992.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/CIMG5991.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...1/CIMG5988.jpg |
I'm kinda confused on this one.
I am fairly certain the 1st on is Steve Trachsel, though he never played for the Angels that I can remember. I am almost positive the second is JT Snow. The number was helpful in this. The third one I do not know, but it looks like it reads Trevor Hoffman, but again, I don't recall him pitching for the Angels. No idea on the 4th signature. My guess as to the value would be pretty low. There's no certificate of authenticity, which doesn't help the value at all. Even though you know it's real, a potential buyer would not know for certain without the CofA. |
Not worth much of anything really, except to someone that needs/wants those sigs. Ebay is your friend in this type of circumstance.

I agree with indebut, even if you can read the sigs, it is confusing. The #6 would be JT Snow, who did play for the Angels at that time. Steve Trachsel was with Chicago (NL) at that time, and the sig looks like Trevor Hoffman's, but he also was not on that ballclub in '94 or '95.
feel free to visit: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/team...p?y=1995&t=CAL if you want to drive yourself nuts. Oh, and to top it all off, unless one makes the HOF (as Hoffman might, had that been his sig) they won't be worth too much. |
that HAS to be Trevor Hoffman, even though this was said to have been a deal with the Angels, it is very possible that him being a pitcher in SD might have made his way there for the event and got to signing stuff. Ya never know.
The unknown sig could possibly be JT Snow as well, they look similar just without the #6 on it. I know they don't look exactly alike but close enough if I did not know I would say it is Snow to someone if I was trying to sell it. |
