The Marching Band Refused To Yield...

This showed up on youtube today, and it's the first time I have seen the video of "The Big Play" between UC and Stanford. There was a big wall sized diagram of the "play" in one of the student buildings when I was going to Cal, that was comic in it's depiction of the number of lateral passes and how many band members were taken out before the winning touch down.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to identify them all.

Big Play

The announcers darn near peed themselves but I tell you what... That was a great play!

Tell that to the band members. They didn't get to play much of anything after that play.

I've always wondered what happened to the trombone player who got run over...

That's odd.

Did anyone fathom out why the band were on the pitch?

There were only seconds left on the clock and Stanford was ahead and had the ball. They squibbed the ball which will usually run out the clock. The band marched onto the field not realizing that the ball was still in play.

How the refs managed to sort it all out would be interesting reading.
