Wow...big break for the Mavs with Baron Davis hurt.
|
Davis isn't giving up. He's gonna keep shooting until he's dead.
|
LOL...it looks that way. Warriors leading at the half. Incredible.
Do we still go with Dirk for MVP after this series? |
The warriors are just throwing the mavs into shell shock.
|
Not out of the woods yet. Dallas can come back from this.
Entire city of Dallas, Texas said to be on suicide watch for the next 48 hours. I can't believe what just happened. |
Even though I'm a Piston's fan, I hope we dont' get another Pistons/Spurs finals. I think the Sun or Warriors /Pistons would be more fun to watch.
|
Man, New Jersey has no heart. The Cavs shot like garbage and still won.
I'm a Cavs fan, and even so I'm pretty tired of the announcers fellating Lebron. |
Do or die for Chicago tonight. I'll be shocked if they lose by 20 again...Im already shocked they've played so meekly thus far. The Pistons melted down this exact time last year, although now they don't have the injuries or internal bitching they had then. Not sure what NJs problem is...with their talent and experience, they should be giving the Cavs more of a fight. Great game in Utah last night...that series has been a dogfight thanks to the Warriors. As good as the Suns are, no way are they getting past San Antonio.
|
What a terrible second half for the Bulls. After an incredible first half. The Bulls are done. No way to get back in this. Pistons have their number now. Going to be a long and ugly off season for the Bulls.
And the pisser is, I've got tickets to Game 6 in Chicago. Or not. |
Too bad about the tickets...but who saw this coming from the Bulls? So now they must be completely shot after being up 20 in the 3rd. Ok, Detroit has played great defense throughout, but Chicago has played so poorly I feel bad for them. I was expecting this series to be total war - a culmination of 3 years of bad blood, plus the Ben Wallace trade - but nobody on the Bulls has yet scored over 20 points in 3 games.

:woot: :woot: :woot:
Going to the UC on Thursday night. No way I thought this would happen. Anything can happen now. Go BULLS!!! |
Congrats on getting to use your tickets, Craven. I hope the Bulls take it all the way. The "no team has gone down 0-3 and come back" record has to fall sometime; it did in baseball.

It'll be the last one of the year in the UC. ;) |
Good game, Chicago Bulls. You have a very, very bright future. We won't be able to hang with you for many more years with our current lineup. Keep and develop Tyrus Thomas...don't let him get away like you did Elton Brand, Ron Artest and Tyson Chandler. The Suns got jacked in the arse on Wed, too. Horrible, horrible call, David Stern.
|
Not feeling too badly this morning. The best team won. The Bulls played one good quarter, that's all. They are one really good player away from being 'there' where ever that is. At times in the 2nd quarter they looked so good, I love their passing game. And they play defense with a lot of energy but they couldn't sustain that for a full game. It was fun at the UC last night. Tons of atmosphere. It was a fun night, that could have ended better but didn't.
|
Looked like a good time. The crowd seemed totally nuts for a while there.

"Honey, did Nash look shaky to you on defense tonight?" |
So let's all wait for about a week until the inevitable Spurs/Pistons final. Depressing. I hope the Cavs can take two.
|
No offense but off the top off my head I can't think of a more boring team to watch than the Cavs. They were unwatchable in the Nets series (so were the Nets)...they scored 8 freaking points in an entire quarter last game. They have that funny looking brazilian clown with the jerry curls, Z always looks like he's on a heroin bender, and Drew Gooden has a tribble growing out the back of his neck. And is there a whiter crowd in the NBA? Is every game in Cleveland Amish appreciation night? Cleveland has 2 watchable players: LeBron and Larry Hughes. Most of the time they're bricking jump shots. Detroit actually plays somewhat creatively in the half-court. I pray it doesn't go any further than 4, if only to avoid injury.
|
So (if I might sum up) you don't like the way the Cavs players look? Are you watching the game for the game or looking for a potential boyfriend? No offense, of course.
|
If I was looking for someone in the fruit-loop troop, you'd be first on my list sugar britches.
|
I'm flattered, but spoken for. I do know some nice boys who might go for you when you do come out of the closet. By the way, that's a really beautiful city you've got there, pride of the nation.

You make sure to catch our annual Gay & Lesbian Motor City Pride Day now.
Dress in your sunday best! http://www.motorcitypride.com/images/filmshot2.jpg Ok, Cleveland played pretty good defense...they probably should have won the game on that 3. We got lucky. Oh and apart from being the most boring team in the NBA, Cleveland may also be the ugliest. Donyell is so ugly that when he entered an ugly contest, the jugde said no professionals please. HeHe! |
powerclown, I was being a jerk. I apologize. Let's ditch this whole "You're gay" "No, you are!" thing, hey?
I feel like all the complaints that the Cavs are boring to watch has to do with the fact that they are tenacious on defense and deliberate on offense. They don't just huck the ball down the court and go for the jam, they take their time and pick their shots. That bad news about that strategy is it means they can lose on a bad three like they did Monday. I feel like LeBron's low scoring is not really encouraging or discouraging; at the end of the day it's all about who got the W. But I think the Cavs lost the game for one reason: garbage free throw shooting. |
Ugh, depressed. The Cavs are taking garbage shots and missing them. I know LeBron got fouled at the end, but they shouldn't have let it come to that.
|
No problem Kadath...sorry.
The Cavs haven't been anymore boring to watch this series than the Pistons. Its back to the old trench warfare style of play, nothing flowing, nobody in rhythm, poor shooting, constant whistles. I just think its the matchup...this is how these 2 teams play eachother. |

I agree whole heartedly. Taking a 12 point lead into halftime, going in getting your cookies and milk and taking a nap on your own mat, some may have colored and when they went out to the court, for the start of the second half, they seemed they were worried more someone may have seen they colored outside the linesthan winning the game... You're up by 12 points and you come out and your first 7 possessions are 5 long shots that turn to bricks and lost possessions and 2 outright turnovers.... and you WANT to win??????? This team destroyed themselves, the Pistons didn't beat the Cavs, the refs didn't beat the Cavs.... THE CAVS BEAT THE CAVS with stupid play and no killer instinct. The Cavs are a good defensive team and deserve where they are (Eastern Conference Finals), but they are a stupid team that will not be able to reach the next plateau unless they learn how to maintain the lead and develop a killer instinct, not just one where they are trying to hold a lead but one where they want to crush the opponent and not even give a chance for them to come back from a 12 point deficit. All the Cavs needed was to win 1 in Detroit.... that's it just 1 and take it to Cleveland and rack up a 3-1 lead..... now they are deficit playing and Detroit IS a championship team and WILL go for the kill. |
hmmmmmm Them Detroit people are mighty quiet.........
|
You really going to brag, pan? This is a very close matchup. It's who gets the lucky breaks that wins this series. We could be singing a different song in a few days.
In my opinion Chauncey Billups should be feeling pretty low right about now. He had some big mistakes in the last few minutes. That's what made the difference here. |
I'm sick and tired of how Detroit is playing right now.
Lazy fuckers just refuse to play the game for 4 quarters. And Chris Webber is doing exactly nothing this entire ECFs. I seriously hope Detroit loses in 6...I'm sick of watching them play 46.5 minutes of garbage every night. Props to LeBron James. The sickest thing is that this is a 22 year old kid. The last Utah/SA game was awesome. Very, very entertaining game. |

It's possible, but the Cavs showed something the last 2 games that I bitched about them not having the first 2 games...... the killer instinct... go in for the kill, play to win..... if you go in with a 12 point lead at halftime, play to protect that lead.... Detroit scores 2 you put the 2 back on the board and kill time as you do it. Detroit sinks a 3 pointer, you go in and fight to sink one or make get the 3 point foul. You don't sit there and throw 5 bricks and allow 2 steals and in 7 uncontested possession losses give up those unanswered points and expect to win. The Cavs are showing the first 2 games they fucked up and miscalculated.... now they have a chance to correct things. Even if they lose the series.... the last 2 games showed they can have what it takes, they just need to have it with a consistancy and the ego of "you have to beat us, we won't beat ourselves anymore." |
man o man i hope the cavs win. I'm already disappointed at the western outcome.
lets go cavs |
I want to go to sleep! What is this double OT horseshit?!
Edit: And now I can, and sleep easy. That is rising up and carrying the team on your shoulders. LeBron has the chops. |
WHOOP THERE IT IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALS BABY
|
So what do you think, are people going to change their tune and say the Cavs aren't serious underdogs in this series?

The problem is that the Spurs have more depth and talent at every position and I don't think they're going to let Boobie bomb 3s all night like the Pistons did. Ginobili is playing out of his gourd right now, and the Spurs as a team - unlike the Pistons - are extremely motivated. Let's face it: the Cavs aren't even as good as the Jazz, so LeBron is going to need multiple 50-60 point games for the Cavs to last even 5 games. Hide the women and children - its gonna be a bloodbath!
Seriously though, props to Cleveland for getting it done, and for an absolutely amazing and unforgettable game 5 performance from the King. Get that man some help STAT! |
I think the cavs have a chance. The Piston's zone forced the outside shot; a man-to-man will allow Lebron to really shine.
just my two cents. |
An apropos article from The Onion:

like ive constantly said... im a spurs man through and through.
i dont see the cavs coming even close. duncan may e boring, but hes got a few good guys round him..bowen, gino, horry to name a few. not just a one man show. |
SPURS win their 4th championship. it may not be the razzle dazzle of the Lakers or Bulls..but they do their job well.. a record 16-6 in this playoff is a record....
shall we deny them the honour of being the best team in the past decade? |
