Dangers of cunnilingus?

I know you can catch STDs, but like is the rate higher for catching something then lets say a girl giving a guy head? What's the likelihood of catching HIV?

Suave 01-03-2006 05:46 PM

Likelihood of contracting HIV is almost non-existant. Saliva kills HIV, so unless you have an abrasion or cut on your mouth or tongue, there is ZERO chance. If you do have a cut, the possibility increases slightly.

As far as other STDs, I imagine the chances are similar between fellatio and cunnulingus. The only difference I can think of is that herpes sores are sometimes on the inside of the vagina, and I suppose there's a chance you might not notice them and hence have a higher chance of getting herpes.

If you have lip herpes, there's a good risk of giving it to your partner either way, especially if you have an open sore.

In general, the chance of transmitting HIV through oral sex is very, very low, though theoretically possible.

Quote:

At the 4th International Oral AIDS Conference held in South Africa, the risk of transmission through oral sex was estimated to be approximately 0.04 per cent per contact. This percentage figure is a lot lower than the two American figures, because this figure is a risk per contact percentage, whereas the other figures are percentage risks over much longer time periods. Oral sex is still regarded as a low-risk sexual activity in terms of HIV transmission, but only when more work is done will we be clearer as to the risks of oral sex.

At .04 percent, you have a 1/2500 chance per contact with a person known to have HIV to catch it.

The risk appears to be a bit higher from cunnilingus than from fellatio.

If you're overly concerned, dental dams are your friend.

But as a general rule and with the exception of herpes, chances are pretty slim across the board.

That's music to my ears, thank you!

What counts as "contact"?

Going down on a girl once, or every time I touch my tongue to her pussy?

noodle 01-03-2006 07:54 PM

Error: Saliva does not "kill" HIV.

The virus has survived autoclaving, exposure to air, bleach, and all kinds of attempts to kill it. The risk is exponentially lower with each of these types of precautions, but nothing has been proven 100% effective, 100% of the time. Every time you come into contact with bodily fluids, you're at risk. But saliva and tears have way lower concentration than blood, semen, etc. Just FYI.

Would surprise visits, less sleep, and vigorous attention count as "dangers?"

They don't for me, but I'm not worried about grades. ;)

Well it obviously doesn't survive very well in saliva or open air, or it would be a much more widespread problem.

Here's a source: http://www.teenhealthfx.com/answers/Health/496.html

"HIV tends to die in the saliva." Not as unequivocal as me saying that saliva kills it, but potayto potahto. And I realise that "kill" is a debatable term when referring to viruses, but I think it's a concise way of saying "prevents from being able to reproduce itself and/or destroys it."

I assume it means each time you make love in that manner, ie "contact" entails between an hour and two of pleasuring your partner until she has a half dozen little orgasms or one massive one, or both. Or that's the way it words in my household, anyway.

Two hours straight? Damn, Grace has stamina. My jaw would go numb.

There are occasional breaks, and the two-hour version can involve fingers, massage, various toys, food items, and whatever else happens to handy. But yeah it does take quite some time to build up that much stamina.

And it ain't just Grace.

showoff ;) Are you being serious though? 1-2 hours of "contact" has a 0.04 chance?

MSD 01-04-2006 10:30 AM

If you're really good at it, she may push your head in with her legs and either suffocate you or sprain your neck by writhing around in pleasure. You can either wear that neck brace with pride, or sit up there looking down and laughing every time she tells someone with a smirk, "Well, he died doing something he loved."

fatmanforprez 01-06-2006 07:40 PM

Anyone who thinks that 1-2 hours is difficult has never done it properly, my gf (soon to be ex) has gone for longer than 2 hours in one session and i have had orgasm counts above 30 in one session half a dozen or so were of the knockout veriety. She dosent walk when i get done with her, or breath or sometimes see while im working on her. And its not just experiance i have only been going at it for 4 months with her, its all in the tounge/finger switchoff, stayign is not only too tiring but it can acctually be detremental in the warm-up stages. Damn i already miss eating her out. of all the things to miss.

Leto 01-11-2006 08:27 PM

i guess a main problem is 5 o'clock shadow. can make her really sore if you go for a few minutes or more. Need to shave before the lick.
