Durex Advanti breakage?

After using the Durex Advant for years, I had my first bad experience with them. Last night we had not just one break on us, but two. This morning a thrid. They were all from the same lot (T2404E), but different packs. Has anyone else had bad experiences with them?

No problems for about 3 years of use by us. However, if I had one in a pack break, I'd probably ditch the whole pack and move on to another one, no matter what brand they were.

The last time I had a condom break was just over 11 years ago... I have a son to prove it.

Um, I think you should call the company, they might need to recall a batch of those things. Some people depend on them for more than just birth control.

like transporting coke in mules?

If they weren't handled improperly, I'd definitely talk to the company. Condoms don't do well in wallets, in extreme heat, etc. Also, if the "we" you're referring to are different, maybe the unwrapping or "installation" were done differently.

Hmm... well, I was thinking disease prevention, but, yes, the coke in mule thing would also apply.

There's some discussion here: Information about Avanti Condoms from Blowfish. Since this is a new problem for you, is it possible that she is less lubricated than before? Is she under new stresses, or taking new medication, that might dry her out?

Ah, but can your son attest to the breakage as well? If not, I'm afraid your evidence will not hold up in court.

That's a good one...

Never had any problems with any condom. Not enough lubrication and improper usage can lead to breakage. Does the person putting the condom on have longer or ragged nails? That can lead to breakage.

Agreed, I already threw all of them out. It's not worth it.

Durex has a form on their website for product feedback. I reported the batch number to them. Hopefully they will actually do something about this.

All of the condoms were handled properly while I had them. I suppose it's always possible that during shipment, they were subjected to extreme heat in the back of the FedEX truck.

The "we" referred to was the same in all cases.

Interesting info there on the Blowfish link. Thanks for the post.

She is a new partner, so she and I do not have a history with this product. I've used it with prior partners in the past without any problems. Lubrication was not a problem. ;)

How good of a grip does she get on you? I've heard stories (possibly apocryphal?) that some women have strong enough muscles to be able to pull a condom right off of a guy. Has she had condom breakage issues with other guys?

I'd recommend using the rhythm method on top of any physical birth control methods until you two can work out a good physical control.
