It is porn that contains only fiction - if any pornography is exploitative to women (a huge debate I can't fathom the right answer to) then anime is not exploitative to anyone, because it's drawings.

In a sense it's porn without the moral grey area of whether the models wanted to do it, or were forced into it by poverty, drugs, violence or whatever.

Don't feel awkward about it. Anime kicks ass! I do it as well and usually it's better that other types of porn because basically, there are no limits. With models you always have some sort of line that will never be crossed, but with drawings, the artist can go buck wild. Enjoy! I know I do.

People have their tastes. Hentai is specifcally desgined to arouse, and with the limitless possiblities of animation, the director can create any fantasy without hinderance. Tthe women are also idealised and, again, specifcally made to give you wood. There's nothing wrong with it at all. Maybe its not something for the majority of men, in america, but think, would there be so much of it if there werent people who enjoyed it like you do? In my opinion, as long as it's not an obsession that overtakes your life, whatever gets you going is good for you. Just go with it, enjoy it, and make sure it stays in moderation, just like everything else in your life needs to be moderated.

The other part that hasn't been mentioned is your age. When I was 17 I'd get aroused looking at a math problem.. oh, that number 8 is so sexy...

Joking aside, in the late teenage years anything vaguely resembling the female form is likely to give you a stiffy. Anime definitely falls into that category. Assuming you're young you may lose interest in a few years (I watched some hentai in my teenage years, but it no longer really does anything for me) or you might keep with it. There's certainly nothing wrong with it either way, assuming it doesn't overtake normal, healthy desire for real women.

I tend to disagree. My SO and I watch porn together all the time (never anime though) and neither she nor I think it's unsavory. Now when you start preferring the porn to your partner - then you have a problem.
