Interesting quote from Angelina Jolie
There is an interesting quote from Angelina Jolie in a recent Vanity Fair article.
http://www.calgarysun.com/htdocs/photos/94770.jpg Quote:
This is an interesting quote on many levels. First she heightens many tfp members' (men and women) fantasies in discussing her sexual relations with women. But even more interesting is the second part of the quote ‘sinny's not right when the lights are low’. How true. Sure, maybe we are more attracted to skinny women but when you are in bed what’s better? She is not saying that fat is good, she is saying that skinny is bad. |
I agree with Angelina Jolie on that one.... A woman's got to have the right amount of meat in the right places. Flat asses with fake silicone boobs are a major turnoff.
|
Quote:
....But I'd probably still have sex with said 'flat ass and fake boobs'. I know; I have no principles. |
Quote:
I guess if the choice is between unbearable celibacy and fucking a woman with a flat ass and fake tits even I would have to resort to boning the flat-assed silicone-chested girl. Shit happens... |
Quote:
It suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure does. |
I agree with Angelina. I like an athletic woman when she's got a nice healthy layer of body fat - ie. 2-3 months into winter ;). So comfy .. mmmm ... alas I digress.
|
While a woman with boney hips wears clothing well and can look really nice on your arm... the fact of the matter is that boney hips always end up bruising me. And I always feel like they are going to break...
I agree with Angelina... |
I like big butts, and I cannot lie.
|
My wife has big natural boobs, a nice round bum, and a nice, not too big/not too small curve around her belly.
Hmmmm... :-) I agree with Jolie too! |
A beautiful woman with some key insights... even if she is a little strange.
Skinny, to me, has just never been attractive... nevermind what I think she would be like in bed. Every girl I've dated has had some beautiful curves and I just don't think I could pass those up... |
Skinny sucks! Curves are king! :D
|
I like women curvy, just not TOO curvy! I'm a pretty curvy woman, I would say too curvy, Martel says just right, and I would feel wierd if I was with a woman who was short and small, or tall and thin.
*sigh* Kate had just the right body type.... DAMN me for never doing anything about it! |
For me womanly curves in any amount are key. A slender woman can be sweetly curved. A ripe woman also. On the other hand a heavy woman may just be shapeless, and a thin woman a mere rack with a stretch of flesh. In the end a lot depends on the woman herself because the animating force is what often makes one woman a hottie and another just a person in front of my eyes. That being said I don't get the eye from ladies myself so I guess my animating force is easily dismissed :(
|
The only reason I keep reading this thread is cause it says Angelina Jolie in the title....oh well :)
|
I also agree with Angelina. Alas, I've only had one sexual experience with a woman, but she was a voluptuous one with many curves, and our time was incredibly memorable!
My man also likes me as I am (an Aussie size 12)...he can't stand the sight of skinny women and that works for me! |
I suppose if I really like the girl I don't really care if she's skinny...I do however love something to hold onto I mean..Of course :D.

It's good to know that Angelina and I think alike.
A couple of my lady friends and I were talking about how we need to lose weight, but we decided that skinny may look nice, but us ladies with a bit of extra stuff feel better! :D |
I think there's a difference between curvy and fat. I'm a big fan of a girl with a figure - skinny girls just don't do it for me.
I also think a lot of girls seem to think they need to lose weight when they don't. It's one thing if you're an unhealthy weight, but not every girl should be super model thin. Where would guys like me turn if that were the case? On a tangential note, am I the only one who doesn't find Angelina Jolie attractive? I can't really peg a specific reason except that she's got a bit of a porn star look to her and that's always been a turn off for me. I know it's natural, but that's not what it's about; she just doesn't do it for me. |
I'm a fan

K-Wise - well, yeah, I know she's not my type. I just have a feeling that I'm in an extreme minority on that one (possibly a minority of one). As to who does it for me.. honestly, there isn't really a hollywood actress that springs to mind. I do think that Diana Krall has just about the sexiest voice I've ever heard, though.
I don't tend to lust after movie stars the same way some people do. I did at a younger age have a crush on Drew Barrymore, but that was more of a hormonal teenage thing than anything else (as to why her, I really don't know. Having matured a bit now, I can say emphatically that she is not my type either). |
You know what is hot? A woman who is freaking comfortable with her body, and not forced to comform to quotes that some female celebrity has spit out.

cellophanedeity and la petite moi, the article that I read (that referred to the Vanity Fair article) said that Angelina was saying what you are saying. She was saying that women should just be comfortable with themselves and to back that up she referred to her experiences saying that skinny isn't even nice.
And this was the reason that I posted this thread. I thought it was an interesting point of view that is not often shared by high profile people in such an honest (if it is honest) way. Martian, I used to feel that way about Angelina Jolie. I used to not even care for her at all. But she has really grown on me. Now my mind has been completely changed. These are vid caps from Taking Lives: http://www.efanguide.com/~ajolie/gal...tlives/110.jpg http://www.efanguide.com/~ajolie/gal...s/tlives/5.jpg |
For me curves are important, but i am more keen on a nice flat healthy tummy. That coupled with a nice ass and breasts....
all IMHO of course. |
I agree with Angelina as well. I think that curves are the sexiest thing about a woman. All these women getting lip injections, ass injections and fake tits just sickens me. All that fake shit is on its way out the door as far as I'm concerned. All nat-tu-ral baby!

Sticky, the point I'm making is that whether a woman is curvy or skinny, there shouldn't be a standard. Her quote makes skinny people feel awful, just like a quote from another celebrity saying that curvy women are gross would hurt curvy women.
Hardknock, women get fake tits and injections because they are TRYING to conform to society, which states that women should be extreme thin in the waist and have curves as well. Naturally, that doesn't occur very often. |
la petite moi, point well taken.
|
All women are gorgeous! :) I can find something attractive in ANY woman.
But i'm going to have to disagree with Joile here: Gilda is Very thin naturally and not super curvy and you know what? I don't care what Joile says, Gilda is amazing inside and out and i think she's incredibly hot, small frame and all, she's a knockout :) Moral is: Curvy women rule, in the middle of 'curvy' women rule and thin women rule :) Women just rule, end of story :D Sweetpea |
/rant potential, warning...
Has anyone noticed how damn skinny Jolie is on that cover? Take another look. If she thinks skinny isn't good, why isn't she putting on a few pounds herself to look less like a supermodel? After all, everyone likes curves, I thought... LPM, I wholly agree with you. As long as women are trying to do ANYthing to change themselves in order to please and attract others and not for themselves (and I exclude "insecurity" from being "for yourself"), there is still something wrong with this society. Fat or skinny, don't matter to me, as long as it's not for someone else or for your own insecurity. Despite all my rage, still just a rat in a cage... (Smashing Pumpkins, if Don Calypso wants to know). |
I guess I'm a minority, but I like skinny women. Particularily with a nice flat stomach. Of course, someone can meet all your criteria and still not be attractive because of some undefinable factor. Same is true the other way around, too.
I've never found Jolie attractive at all. People fascination with her is beyond me. But, to each his/her own. |

I think that there is a difference between skinny and thin.

I'm thin, aka, my ribs show quite a bit, but i've still got a round ass on me :) thin = toned but lithe skinny = denotes an unhealthy look at least, those are my definitions :) |

I like women to have just the right amount of curviness. Exactly like my Abaya! :icare:
|
sweetpea, that is exactly how I see it.
|
I like a gal with some meat on her bones. Scrawny women don't realy appeal to me. A tiny bit of tummy isnt such a bad thing either.
|
Quote:
Except for shaving the armpits, legs and trimming the hedges, right? The 60's look just doesn't do it for me. :p |
abaya - You're right. I don't condone people being grossly overweight in most situations, because besides being unattractive to the majority (although it seems to be much more acceptable in men than women, sadly) it's an unhealthy way to live life and almost always a result of lifestyle. I don't buy this 'accept yourself' crap when a person's physical condition is a result of sendentary lifestyle and an apathetic view on personal health.
But beyond that, yeah there are people who are naturally thin (such as yourself) and others who are a bit thicker and I think that's as it should be. I'm 6' tall and have never in my life weighed more than 160 lbs. I used to hate being so thin, but I've come to accept it as part of who I am, which is admittedly helped by my grandfather, a man I admire quite a bit, recently revealed to me that he took the job he held for most of his life at GM after being turned down for police service because no matter what he did he couldn't meet the minimum weight requirement of 150 lbs. I've occasionally had girls tell me that I'm not attractive because I'm too thin, but plenty over the years seem to have found me attractive enough. So yeah, the point is that there are different types out there and there ought to be variety in the world. As long as a person is happy and healthy I don't see a problem with it. I personally as stated prefer a girl with some curves to her, but obviously there are plenty of people who prefer a more slender girl. |

I don't know that there was ever a more true set of collective statements posted on a topic like this :) |
Being very thin, as I am, is easier than being obese, but is still more difficult than being normally proportioned. Those who are commenting how good clothes look on thin women obviosly aren't going shopping for them. Supermodels look good in those clothes because they have an entire team of makeup artists and hairstylists making them look good, and fashion designers on site to alter the clothes to best flatter their look.
It doesn't work that way in the real world. I can't just walk into Sears or Robinson's May and find a 0 or 2 that's long enough, even though Misses clothes are supposed to fit women my height, and only really expensive specialty shops carry tall Misses in 0 or 2. I'd kill to have the curves to wear a 6. I'm healthy. I don't starve myself or even diet; I just eat healthy and exercise to maintain muscle tone and a flat tummy. I sometimes read "I don't like skinny girls" as meaning "flat chested". I'm not saying that anyone here meant that, but I do sometimes get that vibe. That said, I like curves, too. I love the way Grace and sweetpea have a trim waist that flows into a nice set of hips and firm, round rear. On the other hand, I also think Audrey Hepburn and Katie Holmes have lovely figures, thin though they may be. Quote:
The balloon lips and Pamela Anderson type boobs do nothing for me, though. Please note, I did not take personal offense at any of the "skinny girls do nothing for me" comments here. Everyone has different tastes, and I'm not going to fault anyone here for theirs. The above was just intended to provide a little feedback from the point of view of a skinny girl, since my body type is the one being discussed. |
Gilda, do you think of yourslef as skinny or thin? The reason I ask is that you use both when referring to yourself but many people feel that the two words have different connotations.

Plug my height and weight into a BMI calculator, it it tells me I'm underweight. Look at this weight chart and plot 5'7" 110. It's well into the blue section. Look at the chart optimized for sex. I'm about 8 stone, or a little less. I'm the ideal weight of a woman 5'1" tall. That makes me feel skinny. Look at sizing charts for Misses sizes, and I come in at too small for the xtra small sizes. I tried looking for a chart that had my size listed, but couldn't find any online. This one is one of the few that goes down to a 2, and I'm still too small in the bust, waist, and hips. That makes me feel skinny. I'm thin to very thin. When I want to donate blood last week I was rejected due to my wieght; there's a minimum weight requirement of 110 lbs, and I weighed in at 107. That makes me feel skinny. Again, no judgements about those who are saying they don't find skinny attractive; taste is taste, and need not be defended. I, myself find curvy more attractive. |
I can find any woman attractive for any number of reasons, but overall I find myself looking at a bigger girl.. I'm a good sized fella, and I don't know if that has anything to do with it, but I like a meaty girl..
I wouldn't turn down a thin girl just on that basis of course or judge her as "ew..too skinny" though either, it just depends on the girl I think as to whether or not I find her attractive.. And for the record, I think angelina's lips are awesome and those big eyes of hers, but other than that, she's pretty average in my opinion... |
Quote:
I do agree with her about skinny skeleton women, though. Actually, the womans personality is what does it for me, I just prefer a nice, meaty female with a big arse and tits. Just right for spanking! |
Just gonna give my personal opinion here but petite women are all I can be psychologically attracted to, I love working out, losing body fat gaining muscle, its what I do. Mentally, people who have more then a small amount of body fat bother me, am I shallow? Maybe, but mentally I can't stand the idea of someone I like alot becoming fat, I work my ass off on my body composition and to some extent I expect the same from my other. If a girl is extremely petite, it may mean she just doesn't eat much or it may mean she works out I don't know, but mentally it's just a gamble I'm really not willing to take.
(Btw, I used to be fat also, and it sucks because when your fat, even if you don't realize it you won't get the most out of your life, you avoid situations you normally would get yourself into and stuff like that, or thats how I see it after having lost weight, I'm a totally different person :D) |
i think women who go out of their way to be stick thin so they'll be "attractive" usually aren't attractive. but women who are comfortable with themselves is def hot, and i think curves are great!
|
I've always found this sort of thing intersting, the whole skinny versus thin debate and what is generally accepted as attractive. While there are a broad range of preferences, it seems to me, and feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, but I see it as people tend to seek out others who are similair to their own body condition,.ie...thin finds thin attractive, while heavy/curvy find the like attractive. example, I'm pretty slender... male-6'1"-180 pounds, I dont diet or anything, its just the way I am. I tend to find a HEATLHY slender/thin girl attractive. Just one of my meager observations on society.
|
yea too skinny is bad i like a bit of meat
|
Angelina is correct... been there done that. perfect balance is best!
