Pregnancy Worries
 

Hi. Do a lot of lurking, but never any posting. First time for me.

My girl and I have been together about a year now. Just now we started "fooling around" together, naked in bed. We always stop at oral sex. Both of us are committed to not having sex until marriage.

Now she tells me she's 3-4 days late on her period. She's freaking out because she thinks she's pregnant. She says her period NEVER fluctuates and is always on time to the T. I told her the chances of some of my fluids hitting some of hers, EXTERNALLY, and allowing sperm to swim up to her egg are very very small, but she still freaks out.

We're always extremely careful not to let my penis touch near her vagina. Even once when we were both drunk and I thought she was gonna jump on me, I blocked it with my hand.

Anyway, what do you guys think of this? Do you think by some freak chance some fluids from my penis which contained sperm (I never allow my semen to go anywhere other than a Kleenex) somehow were transfered to in/around her vagina?

I still think there's no chance she's pregnant, but her freaking out is causing me to start to freak a little. There are some other things I should mention too... She's been exercising and dieting for the past 2-3 months, and I've read that this can cause delayed periods, but it doesn't really make sense seeing as she was regular the first 2 months of her diet/exercise regimen. She also came off the pill a few months ago.

The female cycle is a strange thing. I'm sure that women here may want to attest to that, but from what I know, it's is never on exactly the same time every month. It may be right on most of the time, but it probably wont be that way every month for her entire life, as this is probably evidance of. Some small little thing may have happened that she didn't notice that threw off her physiology and she's a few days late. You have a better chance of winning the lottery than getting her pregnant by just fooling around with no insertion.

I had pretty much the same fears...but thankfully it was nothing and I was relieved.

Maybe someone else on here with a better understanding and knowledge could enlighten us about the specifics and the chances.

pregnancy tests are a pretty cheap IMHO way to relieve that fear...

being on the pill keeps a cycle regular, going off it, in addition to diet, exercise, and worry, can make if go off even more.

Chances are probablt 99 percent that she's not pregnant, but... get a test just to be sure.

Get her a test, it's the quickest way to settle your mind. You can pick one up at the pharmacy, and most of them can detect pregnancy this early.

I agree that the chance is very slight. However, a woman's secretions can carry sperm from outside her body to the inside... so get the test to be sure.

Thanks for the support guys. She started today. God, she called me this morning telling me she felt like she was gonna throw up. Of course, I immediately started thinking "morning sickness" but she was just sick with worry.

Anyway, I told her from now on we're being even more careful to prevent this shit from happening again.

hmm, sounds too much like whats going on with me.

my wife thinks she may be pregnant. Ugh!!! still another week to go to be able to make sure.

yeah and I had a friend who used to refer to them as a "12 dollar period starter" :thumbsup:

The tests are cheap.

And to avoid paying 18 years of child support that isn't yours, a DNA test might be as good of an investment as well.

And coming off the pill can really throw off a girls period, but if you weren't committed to having sex before marriage, why was she on the pill anyways? Acne?

This just seems weird. Just throw that out there.

3-4 days late is no big deal, especially in light of your limited activities. Get the test, and have her see her ob-gyn to see if there's any medical reason for her late period. Could be due to stress, illness, diet, any number of things.

You are having sex before marriage. You just said yourself that you are having oral SEX.

Yes, it is possible. My wife is a registered nurse. I asked her about the life span of sperm and she told me that it can live from 4-6 hours outside of the body and as long as 48 hours if kept properly heated (body temperature). It can be carried by other objects including kleenix and turkey basters (don't ask).

If she is pregnant and you are positive that there has not been any semen inside of her, you may need to reevaluate her end of this statement.

She used it to alleviate very painful cramps during her period.

And yes, I suppose we are having sex. We're just not doing the whole coitus thing until marriage.

Remember for the future that sperm can live outside the body, and a woman's fluids are particularly good at carrying sperm to their intended target.
