I'm one of those unlucky girls that can't orgasm during intercourse. I recently wrote an article for my website about the female orgasm and sex drive, and that got me wondering whether these types of 'problems' (it's not really a problem, it all depends what you do about it I guess) are as common as the media would lead us to believe.

I can only get O's if I stimulate myself as well. I don't mind not being able to cum without help because at least I can cum

It's hard to say whether or not it's a big a problem or not. On one hand sex is no longer a taboo and women are no longer sexually "repressed" so one would think that would help us to achieve the big O's. But on the other hand the focus on female models and high standards of beauty that we see in the media every day are sure to kill the self-confidence of many women and make them feel bad about their body.

I have no problems getting off from straight intercourse as long as its in certain positions...for example I cant get off at all from doing it doggy...but on bottom, on top frontwards or backwards is no problem at all

I almost always do during intercourse. Some positions are more conducive than others and stimulation is key.

It's wierd. My last ex only got off through intercourse, and the girl I was with before never has. Also there was one girl who I was fuck buddies with who only got off on intercourse. All the others have been able to either way it seems, although orgasmed much more easily and frequently through means other than intercourse.

I can, but its only happened twice. I dont know why it only happens w/ one guy and not another. Ticks me off.

My wife can sometimes get off through intercourse, but only when there's hardcore pounding going on and it still takes awhile. We don't have alot of time for sex due to work and baby, so I usually get her off once or twice before we actually have intercourse. She usually doesn't cum from the actual sex.

Its definitely not her sex drive though, its VERY healthy. I think women are just all wired differently. We can always get off from the same things, but what gets one girl off won't work at all for another. Like, my wife cums very easily from me playing with her or going down on her, but it takes alot of work for her to have one during sex. I had an ex who was totally opposite, she'd take 30 minutes to cum if I went down on her but would cum 2 or 3 times during sex.

I think most girls probably don't have orgasms through intercourse unless the guy angles himself in a way that stimulates her g-spot.

I sure can. Usually if I am on top it doesn't take very long at all. When I am on the bottom I usually stimulate myself and it intensifies my orgasms.

Only with external stimulation also. But, for me, it totally depends on the um..prepping. The more "prepped" I am the better.

My wife has never gotten off on intercourse alone. I mean never in our marriage and never in her life. I go down on her until she cums, then we have intercourse until I cum. I'm sure the fact that I'm my girlfriend's first partner for intercourse has something to do with it, but I can make her cum pretty easy (10-15 mins) during foreplay and oral and I can make her cum about 3-4 times on average during actual intercourse. oh, and I guess it would be important to say that I've only had sex with one other girl one time. I think the problem, for me at least, is in my mind. There seems to be some kind of mental block there that prevents me from allowing myself to feel things. If I could just clear that up, I'd be extraordinarily happy!

depends on if he's hitting your g-spot...also if, with his groin, he can stimulate the clitoris at the same time-not many can do that! There are positions and certain movements that can be done to get you off, but they aren't absolute and every guy is built different, of course....

though to cum through intercourse alone she needs to have cum already at least once.. opening the floodgates, as it were..

For me, I can if I am already turned on and it lasts long enough (I get a long enough ride), and also it depends on the position. And, yes, size and girth do matter, although how you use it matters also.

My ex rarely got off on intercourse alone unless it was a major pounding. Normally we'd do a prone doggy style with her hand stimulating her clit concurrently. Otherwise I'd get her off first with oral sex or a handjob then get my business done after. Same deal as some of the other guys though, after she gets off, she hates having her clit touched at all.
