Curious about Oral Sex

I (a man) just received oral sex from a girl I know, about 15 mins later she said she had "hit her lip", she may have bled a little im not sure but she was not in pain or anything and could have been nothing but sorta of a hit you know when you hit your lip and it hurts for a second. Anyways I am very worried about maybe getting an STD or something while receiving the oral sex. Can someone please advise me on the chances of getting dangerous STDS as a male through oral sex. I am worried and am just in need of some advice. Once again I highly doubt she was bleeding, more of an ow i kinda hit my lip. All factors bearing what are the risks for me the male.
Thanks

Well if you know her, is there any way you could find out if she has one? If she had AIDS or HIV, she could have passed that on through bleeding. I've also heard, though I'm not sure if this is true, that mouth herpes can be transferred to genital herpes through oral sex...but this would have happened regardless of blood.
It might be good to simply do a google search on STDs and find out about various ones and how they can be tranferred.

Unless you had an open wound on your penis, the chances of becoming HIV is extremely minimal, if not impossible. I honestly don't think you've anything to worry about. You can however, as Trisk mentioned, get genital herpes through oral sex if the performer has a lesion or is about to get one. (That is, they have the tingling sensation.)

Slight correction: Active shedding of the herpes virus is possible even without a visible lesion.

the chances are very very slim, so do not worry anymore.

I bet your just fine. Ask her about it if it concerns you that much.

You know, it seems to me that if you've had sexual contact with anyone whose cleanliness you're uncertain of, you'd be wise to get tested. Trying to figure out the odds of transmission won't put your mind at ease the way a clean HIV test will.

Me, I get tested every 8 weeks or so, every time I give blood at my local Red Cross.

Just about impossible to pass through the mouth. Saliva kills the virus. Very slim chances.

You can get stds from a blowjob....herpes for example. HPV is a common one. Sores don't necessarily need to be visible. Get tested if you're worried.

Since when does Saliva kill viral germs especially ones that cause STDs?

I was talking about HIV and AIDS. Not herpes. You can definitely get herpes from oral contact.

Oral Sex and HIV from the CDC

The risks are higher for the giver than for the receiver.

why not just go down with her to the clinic and both get tested for the whole kit and kaboodle. just think, if it comes back bad at least you know what's up. and if it comes back as a clean bill of health, then you can have all the worry-free oral sex you want. and worry free sex is always the best sex, isn't it?
