When is right/wrong to call

If a girl gave a number to a guy (he really really asked for it on a birthday party of a mutual friend on which they spend great time dancing/talking) and he is not calling for 1 week, 2 weeks..

Well my question is when do you know that the guy will NOT call at all (don't even expect).. IF you know HIS friend when is it OK or not to kind of double check what's going on on the other end?..

Basically what's the ethiquete? THANKS!

If the guy hasn't called in 1-2 weeks, he isn't going to call. Sucks, doesn't it?

Maybe he lost the number? Doubt it.... If he did, and you two have mutual friends, well, he could find out your info from them.

Sounds like he's not going to call.

I just wanted to chime in and say.. You rock Strange Famous, I love hearing people talk about "getting the number" and such.. oh and by the way.

I want that as a t-shirt.. not for me, as I am neither Jewish, an accountant, or do I talk like a rapper.. But it does sound cool..

Oh and Averett, as a guy I'd like to say that sometimes we're stupid and we accidentlly lose numbers because we're too obsessed with having it to put it in a safe place, then we spend the next week madly looking through phone books for someone for whom we know the first name and the last name sounds like, or rhymes with... Its a sad sight..

Well yeah... But with this guy here, he knows friends of hers, so if he really wanted to get a hold of her he could ask his friends that know her...

Well the big date is tonight... can't wait to see what happened. This guy hasn't said how old he is, has he? He's old enough to buy beer, and old enough to still be very excited about getting a girl's number, and not old enough to know what to do with it (or just very excited and wanted to share it to TFP), so I wonder how old this guy is?

I've posted on TFP before on some stuff, but i'm not sure i'd come in posting I'd got a new phone #. I'd think no one would care.

But, we obviously do -- good luck!

I'm 26.

And "age aint nothin' but a number"

I was pretty excited about it since I havent really dated since I broke up with my last girlfriend about 4 years ago, although we did try to get back together at the start of last year but it didnt work out.

It went pretty well, I mean, I'm going to see her again at the weekend - it wasnt like, well, I dont know... I made her laugh a lot, and she seemed pretty happy and nice. I dont know if I really, I mean I dont feel the same way about her as I do for example about the girl I used to work with who I had a real crush on, I guess I felt a little bit nervous, but she seemed really sweet.

And we didnt go bowling in the end, we went to a quiet bar and just talked and stuff, but I didnt get drunk or anything

This is probably the smartest, and most positive thing that I've ever heard you say.

Run right out and copyright this. Right now!! Seriously. Quit reading this, and go!!!!

BUT...before you do...congratulations on a job well done, my man. Take things slow, don't expect too much, and most of all...stay sober. You're a hell of a lot better to be around when you are. I'm proud of ya, man.

Strage Famous!!!! Congrats!!! Now you must call her...don't hesitate too long lest you seem disinterested. Food is always a good thing for a first date. Someplace where you can exchange some good coversation and enjoy each other's company. Good luck and let us know how it goes!!
