Pregnancy?
Ok, so a friend of mine knocked up this chick and he's all worried about her because she says she's pregnant. It's been one week and she says she's experiencing morning sickness, nausia, back pains, blah blah. I know for a fact that she has been with other guys. The question for you scholars out there is... Is it too early to tell that it's my friend's or would it take longer than a week for her to experience signs of pregnancy? Thanks!

A week? No.

back pains after a week? LOL
I (uninformed me) think back pains are caused by carying the extra weight. |
What about morning sickness? Are there any symptoms that can be experienced within the first week of pregnancy?

no. if she is it not from a weekago

According to IVillage:
Breast tenderness is often the very first symptom of pregnancy, followed closely by nausea and increased frequency of urination. Of course, there are many variations. Most of the time, women begin to feel a bit nauseous or have appetite changes as early as the fifth to sixth week from the first day of their last menstrual period. At this time they are about three weeks pregnant. ----------- It's doubtful someone would know they were one week pregnant - unless they were trying to get pregnant... |
Thanks for the link Holo...made for some interesting reading..

Bottom line, she should take a pregnancy test. A week's not too early, regardless of the oddness of the symptoms (back pains can be from a number of things, not just extra weight). I don't know for sure, but I think paternity can technically be tested in utero, but they usually wait till the baby is born unless there's some other reason to do an amniocentesis, which does pose a risk to the mom and the baby. And is usually done much later in the pregnancy, I think.

She just needs to go to a gyno then get a paternaty test.

Look at the color of her nipples, if they've gone from say a beige or pink to a deep purple, she may be pregnant. if its the first time with the current individual, its not uncommon for girls to miss a period or have fake symptoms. but yea, go to a gynocologist or if afraid of confidentiality go to a family planning clinic.
