Single on Hallmark Stockholder's Day (Or Valentine's Day. Same diff.)
 

Well, Valentine's Day is coming up. The most depressing day of the year, as Lewis Black and countless others have put it. I'm certainly not looking forward to it, especially since I'm one of very few of my friends who happens to be single this year. Not that I really cared for it when I had a girlfriend, either; man what a pain in the ass. But I digress.

Got any good ideas for how to spend Valentine's Day single? Post 'em.

As for myself, of those of my friends who are indeed alone this year, there's an equal number of males and females. Right now, the plan is to get hammered, pair off, and drown our sorrows in bodily fluids.

P.S. Don't post "masturbating" as a single-on-V-Day activity. It's kind of a given.

Edit: Let's keep the self-pity to a minimum, too. No offense, Strange.

i hate the fact that people have to get depressed on valentines day. i for one have never had a boyfriend on it, but why should i spend the time thinking about how horrible it is that im not in a relationship? i refuse to join with the millions of other single women who will buy some ben and jerrys and watch sleepless in seattle, crying the night away and wishing they had a man in their life. i plan on sitting around with a few other single friends and playing drinking games :) one tip though... if you dont want to be reminded that youre single, don't go to any resturaunts

I'm having a party with a bunch of girlfriends. I actually am dating someone, but I think it's too early to get all smushy about Valentines Day. So my friends and I will be drinking chocolate martinis and watching Heathers and 9-5.

I'm thinking that my friend P-12 and I will buy some "quality" booze and get rowdy.

I'm single for the first Valentine's day in 5 years, and he's never had a serious girlfriend, so that'll be a good excuse to get plowed.

It works out quite well that it's on a Saturday, and we'd both been wanting to go drinking together, AND that particular Saturday was the date we'd be planning on meeting up.

A random hook-up with an equally dejected member of your preferred sex could prove to be fun as well.
