Your girlfriend and the pill
I was reading something about NBA players being trapped into having kids by groupies and whatnot, and it gave me nightmares (literally). I thought I would post this advice.
Guys, if your girl is on the pill, and you aren't using a condom, MAKE DAMN SURE YOU CAN TRUST HER. And not even because she would intentionally do it. Make sure she is the type who will remember to take it each day - and at the same time too. I had a scare with this. If she is the forgetful type, use a condom too. Don't her tell you it doesn't matter what time she takes it, or any of that nonsense. If she forgets to take it more than once every rare, rare while, and then only remembers it a few hours late, wrap it up. Without a condom is sweet, without a kid is sweeter. |
Too true, too true....
It comes down to this: if a girl doesn't have her shit together enough to remember to do something she chose to do in the first place (I really doubt that most women have been forced to go on the pill, after all), then you really don't want to be involved with her. Talk about a headache! |
I was really, really bad about this during college. I took tons or risks (unprotected sex, etc.), because we didn't have AIDS on our horizon, etc. STD education was limited, and it just didn't seem to be possible. I was very lucky that I didn't end up with a kid during that time. My wife is anal about taking medication, so there has never been an issue with her getting pregnant without us planning it. The two kids we have were planned and conceived almost on the day we planned it (we charted her temperature after she got off the pill).

Oh fine,,, we are the evil entrapping ones.. How about all the guys who say "Oh! its alright I'll pull out" yeah right. This is so insulting... This thread is written like we are all out to grab your goodies.. Well Boys how about we just agree not to give you guys any... Lets See How long civilization lasts. Geessshh how arrogant..

Hey vveronic, relax. Once the male pill is finally released, then both sexes can equally distrust one another about being on the pill.
See problem solved. :) Back on topic... I wish my ex had gotten the 3 month shot (i forgot the name) when we were dating. She was bad at remembering to take her pill on time(or at least the same time daily). Luckily, that's not a concern for me anymore, since I haven't even been on a date in 8 months........ *curls up in the fetile position and cries* |
I don't think this thread is arrogant at all. We are all (men and women both) responsible for ourselves.
And any guy who says "It's all right, i'll pull out" is an idiot. And any woman who believes that this method won't get her pregnant is an idiot as well. Pulling out is not a great birth control method. Girls, if you're on the pill, be responsible. Guys, use a condom. ALL THE TIME. Regardless. You can never be to sure, why would you want to take chances? I'm not on the pill, I probably will eventually but right now I don't want to take it. So should the occassion arise that I'm going to have sex a condom will be used. If there's no condom, then I'm not havin sex! I don't need to get pregnant or get an STD. |
Like some of the people above I have personal and second hand nightmares of girls on the pill. A good friend of mine was fleeced for £500 off some skank claiming she needed the money for an abortion. He later found out she'd had about 25 'abortions' in the last few months alone. That's right, she was a con artist |
okay so she is on the pill, but if you have a child then you are BOTH responsible for it. How difficult is it to ask what time she takes the pill and remind her. I ask my fiance if she had, because it is much my responsibility as hers. If you dont want to ask, visit your local pharmacy and get a box of condoms.

When my girlfriend got on the pill I stopped using a condom and switched to the pull out method. Only on rare occasions did I stay in. I have severe trust issues. Unless I see her take it Im not betting on it.

I bet you find many, many many more women that will trap a man into a pregancy than a man who will try to get a girl pregant (against her wishes) on purpose. |
The mere thought of entrapment in this sense sends shivers down my spine. It's a pretty horrible thing to do to anyone..

My ex didn't take it because she said it would make her "fat"
I was like, yeah good one... lets just have a kid then hey? Which she ended up falling pregnant too.. but she's on it now aha |

Point is, it does happen, but hey people make mistakes too. It's stupid to trust someone with something this important unless you're married. If you can't trust then, you're really in trouble! :) |

The pill is not 100% anyways. I have a friend of mine who had 2 kids while his girl was on the pill. But then again, maybe it slipped her mind as far as taking it. Oops!

The pill is definitely the way to go when in a steady relationship. All these threads about trust, it can't be a steady relationship without trust can it?
