Girl on the Pill pregnant?

My chick tells me that she is on the pill, and tells me that it is very effective, which I know it is. I'm still a little iffy about not using a condom. What I want to know is if anyone here has ever gotten a girl on the pill pregnant? Don't count it if she lied about ever taking it.

motdakasha 07-11-2003 02:13 AM

The thing about birth control is that it's not 100%. None of them are, not even surgery! Keeping this in mind, it's always best to use condoms with other forms of birth control. But remember that you are never safe. (Don't mean to sound scary, but it's the truth.)

daoist 07-11-2003 03:18 AM

a condom is still a good idea. It is slightly possible to get pregnant on the pill, but the bigger danger for you two is the danger of STI's, which the pill cannot protect either of you from.

Jim Kata 07-11-2003 03:51 AM

My gf is on the pill. But I still pull out whenever I finish. I figure it reduces the already reduced chances of getting her pregnant.
But I do know of a girl that got pregnant when she was on the pill. Remember the only thing 100% safe is abstinence (I feel like a sexual education teacher at school).

isandro 07-11-2003 06:54 AM

I also knew one girl that got pregnant while on the pill. I think the chance is about 1 in 100.000, something like that. There should be a page out somewhere comparing the chances of different contraceptives. But apart from protection from STD's I've always felt the pill to be sufficient.

Loup 07-11-2003 07:05 AM

A friend of mine got pregnant while she was on the pill and the guy wore a condom. So nothing is 100% safe (exception: abstenance).

El Conquistador 07-11-2003 08:05 AM

I got my ex-girlfriend pregnant while she was on the pill. Twice. She had some female problems though, and in a way I sort of lucked out by not having her be the mother of my children. She was a real she-demon.

Donkeypuncher 07-11-2003 10:11 AM

It _is_ very effective but, as mentioned, nothing works 100% beyond not having sex with anyone. Do your best to take responsibility for protecting against it and deal with it if it happens.

Pulling out certainly reduces the chances, but don't ever forget that you're leaking fluid and sperm before actually ejaculating. And, you don't have to pull out all the time either - I pay more attention to it when she's ovulating and don't worry so much about it right after her period. Besides, it compels some variety into things and that's rarely a bad thing. ;)

I know someone mentioned STDs and that's definitely nothing to ignore, but I took the question to be from someone in a relationship, not one-night stands. If you're monogamous, STDs shouldn't really be an issue. (unless you're over on that other thread where the guy wants to bang every girl he sees lol)

To answer your question directly, no, it has never happened to me and I am usually in long-term committed relationships where the woman is on the pill and we don't use condoms. There have been a couple of scares over the years, but they never panned out. Aunt Flo always arrived, alebit a week or two late.

When all else fails, cum in her ass. ;)

i dunno how long you two have been together, but it's a good idea to get full bloodtests before you scrap the buckskins, tonto.

from the tone of your post ("she tells me she's on the pill") i am left to assume that you two are not so close that you are actually seeing her pop her pills. it also sounds like she's the one asking you not to use rubbers.

those sound like two good reasons to keep your jimmy hat on, bud... at least for now.

actionplant 07-11-2003 11:27 AM

I'm in a long term relationship...she's been on the pill for quite a while, and we don't use protection anymore. Absolutely no problems whatsoever, but I've heard it can depend on the person too, so perhaps we're lucking out.

Excellent points, my friend.

Or... you know... what I said earlier.

07-11-2003 01:16 PM

Supposedly my mother was on the pill when she got pregnant with me, but i haven't heard any other horror stories. I can assume that after 23 years, the technology has advanced. I've been with several women in long term relationships that have been on the pill and the bottom line is this: If you can look at the girl and honestly see yourself raising a child with her, then i'd forgo the condoms and enjoy myself. If the mere thought freaks the hell outta you, no glove, no love.

Jesus Malverde 07-11-2003 01:47 PM

Sorry I didn't clarify in my first post, I actually do see her take the pill. Bloodtests sounds like a good idea, but for now I just wanted to see if she could get pregnant. So I guess I will just cum in her ass. Or mouth.

GoldenOuroboros 07-12-2003 02:01 AM

The pill is 98% effective.. (100% - 2% for human error)

Things that can screw it up are antibiotics, other forms of medicines and not taking it at the right time. Had a few scares where my girl had forgotten to take it a few times.. Things worked out though. :)

Have fun :)

porkpie 07-12-2003 02:15 AM

When my wife and I met and decided to become intimate, we both were tested for every STD we could think of. Then, with her on the pill, we had plenty of sex for about five years. Then, when we were ready, she went off the pill and four months later, we're now pregnant.
So the pill worked great for us, but we were always worried about the .1% chance that something could happen.
Interestlingly enough, we have friends who, over approximately the same time frame, used the "pull-out method" of birth control. It blows my mind that it worked, but it did for four years, and now they have three beautiful kids.

astartz 07-12-2003 12:31 PM

She need to take it at the same time everyday, If you are worried use a condom.

Pill is pretty damn reliable (I think, taken reliably, the only better method is a vasectomy!)
However, if she forgets to take it (remember must be within 12hr of normal for combined pill, 3hr for Progestagen-only-pill) you can have problems.
Also, mind if she has vomiting, or diarrhoea the pill may not be absorbed correctly. A lot of antibiotics can give you a bit of diarrhoea so it's worth being careful whilst taking them, and a few can directly interact with the pill (though whichever doctor gives them to you should check this through for you).

But most important is to remember that the pill doesn't protect against STDs - unless you think pregnancy is one! So use a condom with it for double protection if you're not with a regular partner.

[/psa]

Hope that helps!

It's not 100%, and it don't do nowt to protect you from diseases - if she prefers bare sex, she's more likely to have them, too.

Markaz 07-14-2003 01:15 AM

Make sure you don't threaten to leave her while you still keep banging her, she might stop taking the pill to get a child to try and keep you to stay. I've heard about it happening, and it 99.999999% results in one fucked up child without a mom/dad. Anywho, if you trust her go at it, just pull out to reduce the risk even more. Plus, like everyone has said, don't get STDs...nastay...

There are many pages on effectiveness and chances.

Injectables and implants have a lower failure rate than oral contraceptives. The only implant I know of was Norplant, though, and that was recalled for some reason.

there is no better feeling then knowing your doing what is withing YOUR control to keep things pregnancy free. you dont know if she is consistant with the pill.

I found out the hard way after 4 years with my girl, on JUST the pill, she got pregnant, un beknownst to me, she fucked up her schedule. sad to say, we didnt keep the baby, we werent ready. now she uses something called nuvaring, a little ring the girl keeps in her vagina as birthe control for 3 weeks, one week with it out for her period. Works like a charm, i still dont use rubbers, because i am engaged now, and at this stage in the game, if we had and accident, were ready for a baby.

my advise, keep the rubbers.

A man after my own heart, but you have to remember cumming in her ass isn't not foolproof, there is a 8% chance that she sqirts some out or you leak some in the wrong place, she can still get preggy (I read this in my last sex ed class, some girl thought she was still a virgin and couldn't get preggy because her bf was butt fucking her instead of "sex")
My gf is on the pill, but I pull out, sometimes things happen, but I try to put it somewhere else than the baby making place. I despise condoms, but they are a nessary evil at times.

EleqTrizi'T 07-15-2003 10:14 PM

Well, here's the story, first hand.

Got my wife pregnant, three times, while on three different prescriptions.

Their names are now Roman, Aidan and miscarriage.

Swear.

Meridae'n 07-16-2003 03:45 AM

I was with a girl 4 years ago that got pregnant while she was on the pill. We couldn't work it out until she decided to tell me she was on anti-biotics for 2 weeks. Those things pretty much eliminate the effect of the pill so watch yourselves...

Avoid condoms at all costs (when with ur GF)!!!

Oh yes same thing happened to my wife and I, not once but 3 times (we only have 2 kids though). Anti-biotics have a way of countering the pill. Now we are trying the shot that supposed to last 3 months at a time. One side effect of the shot (for some women) is that the woman's sex drive becomes zero and they turn into a raving..well you know, so in that respect the shot seems to be "110%" effective for us.
But I swear I'm going to shot myself...

BigJayz 07-16-2003 09:41 AM

I know of severaly women that have gotten pregnant on the pill. It's not 100% effective, and if the dosage isn't right it's even less effective. I know a couple that have gotten pregnant while on other forms of birth control too, such as depo prevera (sp?). So bottom line is, if you really really are against having children use as many methods of BC as you can. If you've already had some and don't want more there is always the snip snip method!

Mango 07-16-2003 10:32 AM

I banged away on my GF for 4 years multiple times a day when I was younger. Finished in her pretty much every time, never got her pregnant.

My Brother and a co worker both got the snip snip, they both ended up having another kid.

Nothing is 100%.

edit: My GF was on the pill.

bfresh 07-16-2003 10:51 AM

They say it takes a while after the surgery for the Snip-a-dee-doo-dah method to actually be 100% (or close to 100%) effective. You have to "clean" your system out, those little guys like to hid places and sneak out at the wrong time.

It depends on the person and how they deal with the hormones. I think I was more of a raving lunatic PRE-depo. I've become less of a bitch since I got on it about 2 yrs. ago. Not everyone is guaranteed to be 100% bitch 100% of the time. Also the sex drive could increase *or* decrease as a side effect. Every woman reacts extremely differently to depo. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the birth control with the widest range of side effects (aside from maybe Norplant or something).

It could very well be a myth, but I think I saw this somewhere on the tee vee. I tried to verify, but can't seem to find a decent page that lists vasectomy complications. Anyways, I heard or read from somewhere that a very rare side effect/complication is that semen will get out inside and the body has an allergic reaction to it. Sounds horrible.

I was talking about just after surgery, it takes about 15-20 ejaculations to clear sperm out of your repro. system (tubes/glands), not from the testies. They have to do a semen analysis showing there are no longer sperm in your seminal fluid..what hiding out in your cowper gland (?).

mule12 07-20-2003 07:41 PM

you have to be aware of any other medications she takes, there are some that cancel out the effects of the pill
