Pill Help.

So heres the thing:

Last Tues my gf missed her pill completely and ended up pretty much not remembering the very next time to take the next pill. *oops* (we use protection anyways)

So she took both pills, as it is instructed to do so.

Well the day after she had a little spot of blood like her period was about to begin, but it went away the day after.

Then on Friday the damn period actually started! Yet she's still taking the pills.

So here it is Saturday and we're thinking of just taking a week off from the pills, get a new prescription and starting fresh. This way her body has a week to do the full period and start fresh.

It'll put her off cycle a little (2 weeks off) but we don't know what else to do.

She called her Gyno Friday afternoon, but no one answered and she left a message. We've yet to hear anything back so far. :(

Thanks for any help.

why not keep taking the pills? and use backup protection, for as long as doctor says is necessary when she talks to Dr on monday?

You definitely did the right thing by calling the doctor. They will know best what to do. I'd say continue taking them until she talks to the doctor. They might say to keep taking them as prescribed.

we really hoped to sort of solve it so that by next weekend (easter) it'll be guaranteed no period as we will be in Washington DC on vacation.

I have done that before. My gyno said to start a new pack the sunday after the period that started ended. Otherwise, it messes things up.

Another thought: Consider trying the Ring. :)

You've probably already heard back from the doc, but when this has happened to me I stop the current pack, wait the week out and start again the next Sunday. Good luck, and good thing you use backup!
