Songs to Strip By....

Well, it's finally come to this. I've been asked to strip dance...for someone I have a hard time saying no to. :)

I love to dance, but have never done a "strip routine" before and I'm wondering if any of the ladies out there can suggest some songs that they have used that were exceptionally conducive to the act of removing one's clothes to music. Hopefully something smooth and not too fast. All I have come up with are:

Sexual Healing - Marvin Gaye (duh!)

More, More, More - by the disco queen whose name I can't re...nope, wait, it just came to me. Andrea True. The Andrea True Connection.

Chain Lightning - Steely Dan

These songs all have a rather sensual, slow and steady groove that I think I can manage and I happen to own copies of them, lol. But if anyone has any other suggestions, I'd be very grateful. I'm going to burn a cd of songs and include it with some other goodies in his christmas present.

Sultana 12-13-2006 12:57 PM

Oh boy...Woman! We need to get together. I have a long list of songs and...you do know that I perform burlesque on the side, right?

Here are a very few of my current favorites:
Feelin' Good - Michael Bublé
American Woman - Lenny Kravitz
Shh! - Bjork
The Letter O - Sesame Street
Perhaps - Doris Day

I'm much more into the old-fashioned peel and tease, but if you want more modern "stripping", NIN's album "Pretty Hate Machine" is always good.

The important thing is that you really connect with it, it makes you want to take your clothes off--it's almost hard to *not* take your clothes off when you hear it. What ever song that ends up being--that's *your* song.

Feel free to PM me (or continue posting here, of course) for any more specifics. :D

shesus 12-13-2006 01:24 PM

I think as Sultana sorta said that it's a personal choice. You have to feel it in the music. Some people like slower music, some fast, some with a strong beat. Sometimes all, but in different moods.

As for me, Pat Benatar has a few songs that I've danced to: Love is a Battlefield and Heartbreaker.

I also made a tape for my ex-fiance to a Rob Zombie song, but I don't remember it. And it might have been White Zombie. I don't know...he liked the song and I felt the 'stripping' urge with it.

Boom, I Fucked Your Boyfriend is an awesome song to perform to. That was done at a dragshow... lots of fun.

Also, Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode can be good.

Experiment with how you want to do it. What you want to start out wearing. And what makes you feel sexy and so hot you want to take it all off and attack. My most recent song like that was She Wants Revenge: Tear You Apart. In fact, it was an interesting walk to the bus stop in my head this morning. ;)

I kind of had that impression. That's why I was hoping you would respond.

Oh my god, I love that. I am definitely checking that out. And I am closet SS music fan, anywho.

Except for American Woman, I'm not familiar with the others. I'll look for them on ITunes tonight.

Have you ever heard of April Stevens? She has a song called Teach Me, Tiger...probably recorded sometime in the 1950's or early '60s...oh man, it would make a GREAT burlesque song.

Yes, I need to sit down and go through my music files and remind myself what songs I have that make me feel that way. I know they're out there...Chain Lightning that I mentioned above is the only one that actually makes me think of stripping when I listen to it. It has a very sexy, old-fashioned strip joint groove...for me at least.

I just feel nervous, I think. I'm afraid I'll make an ass of myself. Perhaps I'll have need of a few cocktails first. :p

Thanks for your input, shesus. I think Heartbreaker and Love Is a Battlefield are too fast for me. And I am absolutely sure that anything by Rob Zombie will be, lol. Personal Jesus might be interesting...still a little fast. But maybe once I've gained some confidence I can take on more ambitious songs. I'm afraid, being the cultural hermit that I am, I have not heard of the other songs you mentioned. :p

If you wanna PM me your email, I'll send it to you. I'm working on a burly set to that with a trenchcoat, a fedora, sexy lingerie underneath. Very simple (and short--the song is only about 2 minutes long!).

"Would you like to buy an O?
Round and neat.
A nearly perfect circle,
Tidy and complete.
You can sing a pretty song with it like so-oo:
O! O! O!
(isn't that catchy)

Would you like to buy an O?
circular and sweet?
O looks just like a donut,
really good enough to eat
It'll cost ya just a nickel
(A nickel?!?!?)
Shhhhhh! Riiiiight.

So buy the o and take it home tonight.

(spoken)
Now, listen. When you buy this "O," you get two sounds for the price of one.
You get one sound that you can use for words like "olive," "ostrich," and "ox."
And for no extra money, you get another sound for like "ocean," "over," "old," and "opening."

So would you like to buy an O?
I'm opening the door.
It's not often that I offer,
really, could you ask for more?

It'll cost you just a nickel
(a nickel?!?!)
shhh! Riiiight.
So buy the o, and take it home tonight,
don't ask any questions,
just buy the o and take it home tonight,
you'll really love it,
just buy the o and take it home tonight."

Elphaba 12-13-2006 04:26 PM

MM, do you recall the Jennifer Warnes cd "Hunter" from several years ago? The track "Way Down Deep" does it for me. ;)

cadre 12-13-2006 04:39 PM

I have been thinking about doing a strip tease thing for my boyfriend for quite some time, and I have a list of sex/strip type music.

-"When the Levee Breaks" by A Perfect Circle (don't know why but I always though it had a sensual sound to it, very slow for the most part too)
-"Walking Dead" by Dj Tiesto
-"Striptease" by Hawksley Workmen (not as slow but hey, it's in the name!)
-"Sweet Release" or "Like I Do" by Live
-"Closer" or "Deep" by Nine Inch Nails (awesome band for such things by the way)
-"Stitches" by Orgy (wierd beat but some people have made it work)
-"Blood Sugar Sex Magik" by Red Hot Chili Peppers
-"Vermillion" part one and two by Slipknot (part two is much slower and laid back than average slipknot but part one is not as depressing)
-"Pussy Liquor" by Rob Zombie (has a slower beat but other Rob Zombie and Whith Zombie songs are good too)
-"Number One Crush" by Garbage
-"Personal Jesus" or "Sweet Dreams" by Marylin Manson

Hm, that was more than I thought it would be. Then again, I'm sure more than half of them are not at all what you are looking for. I am not a real expert on much of the stuff that you and Sultana mentioned but Lenny Kravitz has some good stuff. I hope this is more helpful than rambling! :)

mixedmedia 12-13-2006 05:01 PM

Thank you Elphaba and cadre, I will check those songs out. I do have that NIN song Closer. That one might work. I would like to try a variety.

And one of our most charming male comrades here at tfp pm'd me with a suggestion: Give Me One Reason to Stay Here by Tracy Chapman & Eric Clapton

...which is a version off of A Very Special Christmas Live cd if I remember correctly...which I already have. And I agree it is an excellent choice. The blues is very bump and grindy.

Which also reminded me of Pride and Joy by Stevie Ray Vaughan. That one's pretty sexy...and it has a special significance in its title. :suave:

You Can Leave Your Hat On by Tom Jones always makes me want to take my clothes off.

Excellent!

And I received another pm from a tfp gentleman who suggested Tom Jones' Kiss. What a coincidence! And both excellent recommendations!

These ideas are doing wonders for my excitement level...I'm moving away from apprehensive and nervous and towards excited and inspired.

Keep 'em coming! ehhhh, no pun intended :p

*Nikki* 12-13-2006 07:22 PM

I always liked "Pussy Control" by Prince:)

Elphaba 12-13-2006 09:35 PM

Ooh, Ooh! "Santa Baby", by Eartha Kitt. That is just made for stripping, and "suggesting" what Santa should bring. :)

With all of these suggestions, every day of the year may become an opportunity to please your SO.

I'm all a-twitter.

Thank you, ladies, so much. I hope this thread goes on with many more suggestions and is of help to many other woefully strip-impaired women.
When I finish the cd I will be sure to post the playlist.

Oh, I almost forgot I received another suggestion via PM:

Do Ya Think I'm Sexy by the Revolting Cocks  I will definitely check this one out.

shesus 12-14-2006 03:59 AM

Sultana...the O song would be great for my class next week. We're doing the letter o. Of course, it's kindergarten so no stripping there.

Continue on with sexy talk. ;)

mandy 12-14-2006 06:49 AM

"let's get it" on by marvin gaye is one of my favs although have not stripped to it yet, but i imagine it would want to make anyone take their clothes off;)
pretty staright foward:lol:

Skyllar 12-14-2006 06:51 AM

There's only one song I'd ever consider stripping to:

"If Lovin' You is Wrong..." by Faithless -- it's the deal.

Sultana 12-14-2006 09:15 AM

Lately I'm also loving' "Give It Up To Me" by Sean John, I think it is. It's so fun and sexy!

mixedmedia 12-14-2006 02:51 PM

And the suggestions keep pouring in. Apparently the guys have some very strong opinions on this topic, lol. Thanks guys! :icare:

Boz Scaggs - Slow Dancer (someone of my generation perhaps, uh-huh)

Quote:

Strokin' (long and dirty mix) by Clarence Claiborne
Addicted to Love by Robert Palmer
Dancing W/ Myself by Billy Idol
Cradle of Love by Billy Idol
I Touch Myself by Divinyls
I Want You To Want Me by Cheaptrick (great tune)

This City Never Sleeps-- Eurythmics
Slave to Love--Brian Ferry
Brown Sugar--D'Angelo
Groovin--Smokey Robinson
Do Me Baby--Meli'sa Morgan
Love You Down--Ready For The World
And thank you mandy, Skyllar and Sultana once again. I think it's time to compile all of these suggestions and start making some decisions. I get the distinct feeling that I will have trouble narrowing the playlist down to one cd...as always. :p

IT2002 12-15-2006 09:35 PM

..............................

FutureForseen 12-15-2006 09:57 PM

My two favourites are:

Wicked Games--Chris Issak
Here Comes The Rain Again--Eurythmics
Pussy--Lords of Acid
Cream--Prince
Justify My Love--Madonna
Go Deep, Nasty-- Janet Jackson
and from my good friend....:icare:

Quote:

"Is it my body?" by Alice Cooper.
Gotta love that one

I'm going to sit down and try to start putting this together today...I have a good long while to sort it out. I won't see him again until the weekend of the 1st. So I'll still be open to suggestions 'til then. And knowing me, I'll be tweaking the playlist until the last possible moment.

Thanks again, everyone, so much!

Sultana 12-16-2006 10:32 AM

I think I'd like a copy of this cd. :D

mixedmedia 12-16-2006 02:13 PM

Sultana,
That won't be a problem. :)

Here's my initial list (in no particular order) after finding as many of the songs suggested here and going through my own music files...I will need to pare it down quite a bit as you can see.

You guys gave me many great suggestions and just because they aren't listed here doesn't mean I don't like them...just that I didn't think I'd be able to dance well enough to them yet (or I couldn't find them). I've got to ease myself into this thing. :p

Quote:

Sign Your Name - Terence Trent D'Arby
Would You Like To Be An O - Sesame Street (riiiiiiight  ) I love this song

Do You Think I'm Sexy - Revolting Cocks (oh yeah, I like it!)

I had two more suggestions....

Quote:

"Erotic" by Razed in Black, a cover of the Madonna song
I'll have to look this one, up...sounds promising.

Quote:

Lovin' Touchin' & Feelin' by Journey
Hot Child in the City by????
Good suggestions, thank you!

???? = Nick Gilder, BTW ;)

Thank you!

zpeanut 12-17-2006 11:51 PM

I heard a really sexy slow song..
Janet Jackson - Would you mind

very sexy vocals, naughty lyrics. Could imagine it for a slow strip.

sample -

baby would you mind touching me
ever so slowly
your making me quiver
Baby would you mind undressing me
making me feel sexy
While in the moment

Cause I'm gonna
bathe you play with you rub you caress you
Tell you how much I've missed you
I just wanna
touch you tease you lick you please you
love you hold you make love to you
And I'm gonna
kiss you suck you taste you ride you
Feel you deep inside me ooh
I just wanna
kiss you suck you taste you ride you
feel you make you come too

mixedmedia 12-18-2006 03:16 AM

Yes. Janet is pretty damn sexy....remember Time Flies When You're Having Fun from the Control album....she took the sexy song to a whole new level.

Maleigh99 12-21-2006 02:52 PM

The one that does it for me is Led Zepplin's Since I've Been Loving You. Another is Usher's Can You Handle It. I'll definately be checking out some of these songs. Thanks for starting this great thread!

I absolutely LOVE that CD, in fact I'm going to go dig it out right now.

Depending on the mood, two other very different possibilities are "The Blower's Daughter" by Damien Rice, and (dare I say it), "I'm a Slave 4U" by Britney... I don't actually dig either of them artistically, but they can set a mood.

cellophanedeity 12-21-2006 07:55 PM

Feel It by Jackalope is one of the hottest songs ever.

Quote:

Is that you doing that to me
With your stare
I feel the temperature start to rise
And I
Really take it from there

I start to press my skin to you
I'm craving it
I'm feeling you
Will you relieve me fast
Feast your eyes on my display
Take control
Fall over me
Cover me in ecstasy

Let me ride to heaven
Let me feel the swelling
Oh let me concentrate

I can feel it
When I taste
Like the wind
I breathe
Crawling inside of me baby
Oh oh oh

Now's the time for you to let go of
All your inhibitions
We can do this one more time
With a little
Tease and conversation

Watch the way my body moves
Feel the rhythm melting you
Mmm this is how it should be
Crawl over you
I'll dominate
Your destiny
I'll be your faith
I will be your fantasy

Let me ride to heaven
Let me feel the swelling
Oh let me concentrate

I can feel it
When I taste
Like the wind
I breathe
Crawling inside of me oh baby
Oh oh oh

I can feel it
When I taste
Like the wind
I breathe
Crawling inside of me baby
Oh oh oh

If I've fallen in love with the soul
If I've fallen in love with myself
I'll take it all in one time

I can feel it
When I taste
Like the wind
I breathe
Crawling inside of me baby
Oh

I can feel it
When I taste
Like the wind
I breathe
Crawling inside of me baby
Oh oh oh

I did burn this cd and use it this weekend and I will try and remember to post the playlist this evening. I went extremely safe - I had this last minute fear that I would include a song that, in the moment, I would find awkward to try and dance to. Which is a mystery to me because I love to dance and I'm generally not an inhibited person - weird mental block, I guess.

It went pretty well, but I found that I really didn't get much dancing in at all. But the music made fine accompaniment while we did...other things. :suave:

I'm going to make another disc for the next time we get together. With this next one I will be a little riskier. I appreciate everyone's suggestions so much and, as you will see, I used quite a few of them. By all means, if inspiration ever hits and you have more suggestions, please post them here. This could turn into an ongoing project.

Sultana 01-04-2007 09:37 AM

Good job! I'm curious as to exactly how much actual performance time you managed to clock, lol! :D

LOL, oh I'd say about 10 minutes...and then whether some of that 10 minutes could be considered "dancing" is debatable. uh, doh. :D

BTW, I'd never heard of that Michael Buble guy before and I didn't use the song you suggested this time, but I'm all into him now. I love his voice! And, of course, I love all those old standards.

And I've finally remembered to come back here and post my playlist...it's not very exciting, but like I said, I will be adding more songs to my repertoire for next time.

Quote:

Love Is the Drug - Roxy Music
Give Me One Reason - Tracy Chapman
Lovefool - The Cardigans
Would You Like to Buy An O - Ernie and another, shadier, Muppet :D (it was a favorite from the set, by the way, he got a real kick out of it)
Fever - Peggy Lee
The First Taste - Fiona Apple
Chain Lightning - Steely Dan
If I Was Your Girlfriend - Prince
Sign Your Name - Terence Trent D'Arby
Razed in Black - Erotica
Justify My Love - Madonna
The Crying Game - Boy George
Between the Sheets - Isley Brothers
Cream - Prince
When the Levee Breaks - A Perfect Circle

CookieCutter 01-08-2007 10:43 PM

I've never actually stipped to this song, but it is one of my favorites to have sex to....Basement Jaxx: "Get Me Off" its an awesomely hot song :)

hagatha 02-04-2007 10:57 AM

Just bought Prince's greatest hits, Gett Off is like THE song for stripping.

Eowyn_Vala 02-06-2007 06:45 PM

I like the song "Feelin' Love" by Paula Cole. It's on the City of Angels soundtrack. It always puts me in one of those moods. Very slow and sensual.

mixedmedia 02-06-2007 07:00 PM

I'm going to be making another of these discs for my trip to Naples on Presidents Day weekend...so I'll be sure to be referring back to this thread. Thanks Cookie, hagatha and Eowyn for your contributions! :)

mixedmedia 02-28-2007 02:49 AM

I have added Lowdown by Tom Waits to my list. Yes, that's right. It definitely has a nesty, sexy groove that I can dance to.

mixedmedia 03-01-2007 04:41 PM

...and Smoke Rings by kd lang.

Proxybabe 03-22-2007 08:59 AM

i just thought id post and thank mixedmedia for asking for suggestions! I have done this many times before but i always think - damn i could have done with a better song! And now i have a healthy little list!

I know this is a little off topic, but some help would be appreciated... what do you reckon is something good to wear when wanting to do a little private show for someone special just at home? I dont want to go over the top - i also dont want to put the thread on a different track, so maybe pm me ideas and i would be so thankful!

Thanks again!

Sultana 03-22-2007 09:08 AM

Proxy--I think a new thread dedicated to that would be just fine. Don't be afraid, go ahead and make it. :)

amandachenee 03-27-2007 09:38 AM

A few more that I'm using in my cd are:

What Kind of Love Are You On by Aerosmith (This is the song that was playing in the stripclub on Armageddon!)

Dirty Deeds (done dirt cheap) by AC/DC

Breathe on Me by Britney Spears (I ALWAYS wanted to give a lapdance to this song!!!)

There will be more!

Anyone have any suggestions on specific Rob Zombie songs???

Sultana 03-27-2007 12:29 PM

I'm working on a burlesque set using Rob Zombie's "Living Dead Girl", hope to have it up and running soon (in a month)!

Dragula is great too.

Reservations by the Old Ceremony. Fun!

mrsmonte02 12-13-2007 06:20 AM

1st Time!

So I want to do a little striptease/dance for my husband on Christmas Eve...total surprise for him! I've never done it before and we had a baby a little over a year ago so of course I am self conscious about my body but I think this will really surprise him. I have a cute sexy Santa outfit and was going to use Santa Baby....any ideas on how to start? how to relax? should I put a robe or coat on first?

mixedmedia 12-13-2007 06:31 AM

Hello! :)

Well, I don't know if you're a drinker, but a couple of cocktails can help you relax.

And keep in mind (this is what I've found) you don't really have to worry about whether you're 'doing it right' because he's going to think it's great no matter what. Just bend over and wiggle a lot *Schwing!*

But the more you do it, the more relaxed and playful you will get. The first time is just a little nerve wracking because you're wondering if you're going to make an idiot out of yourself...but now I really don't think that's possible. Like I said, he's going to like it no matter what.

I always start up close because it helps me get into it if I can touch him and kiss him and, uh, grind on him. :p

Good luck!

oh, and as far as what to wear? That is completely up to you. Personally, I don't like messing with alot of clothing, so I usually start in lingerie of some sort...sometimes a slip...and always stockings and a garter belt. :)

eileenbunny 12-22-2007 09:10 AM

After Dark by Tito and the Tarantula is the only song I've ever actually stripped to. Inspired by the jaw dropping performance Salma Hayek in From Dusk til Dawn.

You Shook Me All Night Long by AC/DC wouldn't be bad either.

ItWasMe 12-26-2007 07:59 AM

Candy Man by Sammy Davis Jr. That song can be erotic if you do it right, using chocolate syrup, whipping cream or frosting, gumdrops, M&M's. "...talk about your childhood wishes, you can even eat the dishes..."

Kaimi 12-30-2007 04:02 PM

This probably sounds sort of lame, but the song Paid by Kid Rock. It is all about the rhythm of the song.. it is just perfect.

Sue 12-30-2007 08:04 PM

Naughty Girl by Beyonce.

PonyPotato 01-04-2008 06:23 PM

I don't think "Pour Some Sugar on Me" (Def Leppard) got mentioned yet..

Or John Mayer. The song "Neon" always makes me really hot.. and then there's "Your Body is a Wonderland."

George Thorogood and the Destroyers - Bad To the Bone
Pussycat Dolls - Buttons
Britney Spears - Toxic (I know, but I like it..)
Muse - Supermassive Black Hole
The Black Keys - Your Touch

I prefer industrial for stuff like this.. and realized that I have none. I also love Pretty Hate Machine (NIN).. but it's scratched and dead. :(

PonyPotato 01-04-2008 07:07 PM

Oh wow, oops. I feel retarded. /punches self

I'll change it and feel better about myself. LOL.

Dirty Nasty Boy by Christina Aguilera
I Just Want to Make Love to You by Etta James

Okay, I think I have finally reached Stage II in the science of Stripology and I have put together a new list of songs.

These are in alphabetical order here because I pulled them right out of iTunes, but they will be split up into basically three categories: Blues/Rock, Soul/Dance & Everything Else. A bunch of them I pilfered from my 19-year-old daughter's computer...see if you can guess which ones!

But most of these songs I wouldn't have felt comfortable dancing to...naked...in front of someone else, lol, when I first started. But now I'm ready to shake dat thing! :)

I'm driving down to Naples for the weekend where I shall try them out...I even got me some sexy, new dancing shoes...

And last night I put it on and did a striptease for my guy. He liked it so much he wants me to do more stripteases. :D Thanks, TFP, for planting the seed.

haha! i just downloaded that song thinking i'd add this on the thread and apppparently i am WAY out of the loop.

**off to strip! brb**

I went and sampled that song on Seeqpod, but it really wasn't my bag.

But I must say, I had a fabulous time dancing.

Favorite song of the night: Rebel, Rebel, just perfect timing...and I've been dancing to song since I was about 13 or 14 years old. :)

One thing I learned...don't wear a wig. It gets too hot. Good thing my own hair still looked presentable when I took it off, lol.

"Glory Box" or whatever that last track was on Portishead's Dummy album. Or maybe that would be better for a drag show. Dunno.

I've moved this thread to the Sexuality forum, 'cause I see no real reason to limit it to the ladies. The more input the better, I say!

No pun, intended, absolutely not...harrumph...

Since it's open to everyone now, go with anything off of White Zombie's remix CD "Supersexy Swingin' Sounds." Here are a few from that CD:

has the song "i´m too sexy for my shirt" been suggested yet?

i think i´m going to be pretty useless here as i´d say to strip to aphex twin you´d have to look like something between being electrocuted, and an epileptic fit and i´m not sure you could stretch it out to the rather dramatic 20+ minutes of godspeed you! black emperor.

after an extensive search though my near 100Gb of music this is the best i can do:
ampop - make for market
(almost the whole album) the rose has teeth in the mouth of a beast by matmos
massive attack - protection
goldfrapp - train and strict machine
dot allison - colour me (actually, this one is pretty good)
cake - short skirt long jacket (just for the lyrics)
(all of the album) midnite vultures by beck ESPECIALLY nicotine and gravy "i´ll feed you fruit that don´t exist, i´ll leave grafitti where you´ve never been kissed."
air - sexy boy

yup pretty lame but it´s the best i can do :s

thanks for the suggestions..

true to my obsessive nature with collecting things I will check these out and possibly add them to my list.

Basically, if it's bump and grind-y, I will bump and grind to it...especially if I've had a couple of Red Stripes...I say this from purely empirical research, of course.

Here's my suggestion....

Basin St. Blues

Girls always wanna get naked when this tune starts.

Makia 04-30-2008 02:57 AM

Never tried anything like this myself, but here's a song that I always thought was incredibly sexy:

Face to Face by Siouxsie & The Banshees

I pretty much became an instant fan of theirs once I heard that one.

Night Prowler - AC/DC

You Can Leave Your Hat On - Joe Cocker

494348 06-01-2008 08:54 AM

Jane Birkin avec Serge Gainsbourg - Je t'aime

Calliopie 04-26-2009 09:44 PM

I can't believe I have not read anyone mentioning songs by Karma off the Delerium CD, I have that CD and have danced to every song on there. It's a bit ethnic in sound but the one that gets me in the mood is Euphoria (Firefly)

Plan9 04-26-2009 10:21 PM

THREAD NECROMANCY!

Top 40 boom-boom-boom stuff like the current version of Kanye West's "Love Lockdown" seem to fit the bill nicely.

Haven't witnessed any real stripping but there is no shortage of pseudo-strippers every time I walk through a dance floor.

SSJTWIZTA 04-26-2009 10:44 PM

Table Dance by 2 Live Crew.

ohhhh yeah.
