Your mission should you choose to accept it is simple. Do not watch porn for two weeks. Ok before you start throwing bottles at me because I've asked to take away the most precious of viewing materials,
there is a method behind this madness. Let me explain.

It's an experiment of sorts.. just for the great members of TFP. I'm curious as to the effects of not watching porn when one is accustomed to watching it. Does it make you stress out easier? Does it enhance your love life? Do you find your fantasies more realistic and more vivid? Are you more open with your sexual partners? Do you find a new hobby? Do you get more accomplished at work? Around the house?

Now, here's a little helper. You are still allowed to masturbate. Masturbate as often as you have been or when you feel the urge. You just can't watch porn while doing so. This includes reading erotic stories, softcore (cable porn) or any other visual stimuli to achieve orgasm. If your S.O. performs a strip tease then that is most certainly acceptable.

Fantasy during sex play is often a good thing. So this is to see if not watching porn increases those fantasies or if they diminish. It will help us really get a feel for what we think about during sex play and how we can channel those fantasies into a better sex life. There are other factors as well but they obviously don't need to be outlined. If you agree to this challenge. I'd like to get feedback here so we can all learn from each other how we click sexually and how we grow (no pun intended) in the sexual realm.

Well, you can count me in. I'm willing to participate in such a study if it will benefit mankind. What I am wondering though if this is all that hard or not. I'd be really surprised if I cracked before the two weeks, but I do not see it ouside the realm of possibility.

Will it enhance our lives? I dunno know, but it might loosen the grip of the masturbation habit, and maybe we'll be seen as normal?

I think this is indeed a venture of monumental proportions.

It's really not about enhancement as masturbation is a normal part of life and shouldn't be seen as otherwise. It's merely an exercise to better understand how we function sexually, and how our brain responds to a lack of sexually stimulating images. I'm most curious on fantasy patterns and how they increase or decrease in kinkiness, vividness, and of course if they increase or decrease in time. Also, if it helps your sex life at all. These are the two main areas, but I'm interested in all results pretty much.

And no, I'm not in school so you don't have to worry, it's not for homework or anything. Just pure curiousity.

So it's Day 4... hasn't been too difficult to distract myself or surpress the urge as my self control is still very much entact.

One thing of note happened last night. I don't have dreams that i remember all that often, but when I do remember them they are very rarely sexual. It has been more than 3 months since I've watched porn to begin with. Also, I have not had sex for the past 35 days and have not masturbated for 63 days.

The real challenge is to go 120 days and 120 nights without any sex or masturbation---that would take discipline for a man to do. Women can go without sex for much longer because we all know they have a built-in "on/off" switch for their sex drive.
