Christopher Walken in 2008

Christopher Walken 2008
So, as far as I can tell, this is legit. And it's not just, like, some funny random group trying to get him elected. He's actually behind this. There's a press release and everything.

Beyond the fact that it's silly...I'm not sure. I won't immediately discount him, and I'd actually be interested to see what his platform shapes up to be.

But c'mon. Walken for President? I really would love to see him screaming "More Cowbell!! I need more Cowbell!" at Kim Jong Il.

filtherton 08-15-2005 01:29 PM

He's got my vote. I doubt he could fuck things up any more than the current president.

connyosis 08-15-2005 01:34 PM

Haha, oh hell yeah I want to see Christopher Walken as president. Arnold can go suck it.

Now isn't that a face you can trust?

Pacifier 08-15-2005 01:39 PM

But he has to do press conferences in his "headless horseman" costume and say things like "ARRGH!"

cyrnel 08-15-2005 01:50 PM

His Captain Kirk cadence would make press conferences surreal.

JumpinJesus 08-15-2005 02:39 PM

Hey, anyone who can spend 5 years in a Vietnamese prisoner camp with a gold pocket watch hid in his buttocks gets my vote.

the_marq 08-15-2005 02:54 PM

Sure to be revealed as an elaborate hoax in a few weeks.

The big question, of course: Is "Walken for President" for real? According to one source, the entire campaign, including registration of multiple Web domain names, is an elaborate hoax being perpetrated by members of the General Mayhem forums, one of the largest message boards on the Internet.

Hey, if Ronald Reagan can do it, why not Christopher Walken? I wouldn't vote for him just because he's an actor, but if I liked his stance on things, why not?

Charlatan 08-15-2005 04:25 PM

Just think about his role in the Dead Zone for a second...

OK.

You can carry on now.

kramus 08-15-2005 04:45 PM

He is a totally cool, genuine man who is brilliant, funny, and committed. I would love to see it play out from my viewpoint north of the border.

I had that thought as well. He should have ran in 2004.

Even Slate can't say for sure whether this is real or not, but most sources seem to say this is a hoax. Walken's publicist is denying that he will run in 2008. So there you have it.

CShine 08-15-2005 09:46 PM

HOAX!!!!!!

CSflim 08-15-2005 10:00 PM

this is certainly a joke, but hell, he'd get my vote (If I was living in the US that is).

Paq 08-15-2005 11:05 PM

I'm writing in christopher walken now. That man is pure genius, plus, he dances in all his movies...should be awesome :)

Schwan 08-16-2005 12:13 AM

Washington Times / UPI says it's a hoax.

Is Walken going to run?

Aug. 15, 2005 at 9:50PM

A Web site announcing Hollywood actor Christopher Walken plans to seek the U.S. presidency is a hoax, his publicist says.
The site, walken2008.com claims to quote the actor as saying, "It's time to get America back on track," and says he will run for the nation's top post in 2008.
But his rep told "Entertainment Tonight" Monday that the sit is "100 percent not true."
"(It) sounds like someone got a little too excited over his role as secretary of the Treasury in 'The Wedding Crashers' and now they want to make him president," the rep said.

He'd get my vote....I love this man...love love love this man....For some reason thinking of him as president reminds me of his role in Joe Dirt (yes Im one of the few people in the world that actually liked that movie)

connyosis 08-16-2005 06:07 AM

Joe Dirt rocked, so we're at least two people that likes it

*Nikki* 08-16-2005 12:43 PM

Hell Yeah. Walken would get my vote anyday.

loganmule 08-16-2005 09:15 PM

He'd have to be as good as Reagan, and he's a much better actor and dancer...remember this?
