Voter turnout
For all the talk of Vote or Die, and all the people that were supposed to vote who never had before, how did voter turnout compare to the last couple elections?
Very well. I think I heard it was over 60% which is extremely high - higher than any election since 1968. The youth vote - despite how some people try to spin it - was good too. 17% of votes were cast by persons 18-25 while persons 18-25 are approximately 14% of the voting age population.

I thought one of the figures I heard this morning, and I'm not sure if it was Chicago or national (my blow dryer was on at the time) was somewhere around 73 percent of registered voters....
If it's in the 70's, it would be the highest since 1900, and the highest since women were allowed to vote and the voting age was reduced to 18.
Young voter turnout increased. It just increased in proportion to overall voter turnout. As it stands, I don't think young voter turnout was ever that bad when one looks at the percentage they are of overall voting population.
I heard voter turnout nationally was 58 percent of registered voters, the best turnout since 1968. That is especially good considering that I read somewhere that about 10 million more people were registered to vote in this election than in 2000. In 2000 about 51 percent of registered voters voted.
