Brought To You By... Creationism
I'm still looking for more precise numbers here, but in general, this is what I have learned:
There are 20 to 25 million Evangelicals in America. Approx. half of them vote. 85% of those, voted for Bush. That's about 8.75 million surplus people voting for Bush who do not believe in evolution. Anyone got a spare ticket outta here? |
What makes you believe people will be any less crazy in other parts of the world?

djestudo - That's an idea. But it just seems like going from one fundy bastion to another, ya know? |
bling,
i was just playing along w/ya... but you're really stretching now. you've gone from assuming that every single evangelical is also a creationist. from there you've concluded that every single creationist stance is incompatible with a viable version of evolution. now you've taken those assumptions and concluded that their democratic participation is based on that viewpoint when there are hundreds of more relevant issues. i can already tell this is going to be messy. |

They're perfectly entitled to their opinion.
They're wrong, but hey... so are people who wear tartan pants. Mr Mephisto |

Try Australia. It's much nicer, if rather less cultured. :)
Mr Mephisto |
I'm totally down with that. You got a spare couch? ;)

Well, people here do have freedom of religion. As much as we may disagree with their choices, most of us will defend their right to do so.
