a comparison between clinton and 9/11
i just wondered if anyone's calculated the expense spared for the investigation of clinton's sex shennanigans to the expense spared to investigate the current administrations fault or involvement in 9/11 and the bogus invasion of iraq. from the time it was in the media and all the starr reports etc. i'd say that a bj got more spin, budget, and attention than the the deaths of 1000's of people not just here, but around the world, all for the wrong reasons. thoughts on this anyone?

when i speak of fault or involvement i speak of him/them allowing it to happen, not orchestrating it. but looking at that question i'll admit that for now that might belong more in tilted paranoia..... for now. so i'll switch examples... how bout all the election shenanigans going on in fl. and at so many polls at the 2000 election tally... how much was really put into investigating that compared to clinton's knobshine?

Well, if what your implying is the myth that Republicans stopped blacks from voting, that was never proven...
Ri-ight. Well, in Saint Louis they foiled those nasty Republicans by finding a friendly (Democratic) judge to illegally keep the polls open for hours after the 7:00pm closing time... And Clintons knobshine was purjury- lying under oath, by a President thats kinda more important than geratrics that can't fully punch out a chad ![]() |

The election tally is a completely different situation. What were we going to do? Sit and wait for 9 months to a year while investigations are going on nationwide as to voter fraud and such , meanwhile who would have been the president and vice president? The whole Clinton scandal was blown out of proportion by stupid Republicans who had no idea what the fuck they were doing.
What is the point of this topic?

One day an Englishman, a Scotsman, and an Irishman walked into a pub together. They each bought a pint of Guinness. Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage, three flies landed in each of their pints. The Englishman pushed his beer away in disgust. The Scotsman fished the fly out of his beer and continued drinking it, as if nothing had happened. The Irishman, too, picked the fly out of his drink but then held it out over the beer and yelled "SPIT IT OUT, SPIT IT OUT, YOU BASTARD!" |

the point is that i think it's a damn shame we can go through a 1 year witch hunt because of a false answer to a question that should never have been asked in the 1st place, but on the other side of the coin we are barely even looking into all the shady things that have happened since our last election... and that instead of someone "independent" like starr, we have the very people who would be at fault heading up our investigations on those shady things.

Clinton:
1) Lied under oath about his relations with Monica Lewinski. Punishable by impeachment. Bush: 1) He and his administration lied to the country and the world about weapons of mass destruction, as a precursor to violating international law with a preemptive invasion of a country which never threatened to attack America. Punishable by prison enforced by a world court. 2) Independent investigations have shown significant manipulations of the 2000 election in his brother's state of Florida, which constitute fraud and corruption of the democratic process. He should not have been appointed as President in the first place! Punishable by impeachment, and possibly prison. 3) He has failed horribly at nearly every project he has been trusted to carry out, and has violated his promise to be "a uniter" of the nation. The United States is in the midst of the most serious "civil war" since the abolition of slavery as a result. Not re-elected. 4) He has driven our children and grandchildren into unprecedented debt, from which the country is unlikely to be able to recover. His administration has been criminal in handing "sweetheart" deals to multinational corporate entities to benefit friends and themselves, including fraudulent billing by the millions, amounting to tyrannical piracy outstripping King George vs. the Colonies... Again, not being re-elected. 5) He has interfered with the proper investigation of the 9-11 attacks, hidden critical records and communications, and continues to obfuscate his relationship with the Bin Laden family and the Saudi ruling families. Punishable by prison, and possibly the death penalty (under the patroit act perhapse?). 6) He continues to deny the effects of global warming and snub the Kyoto protocols, even as his country is being thrashed by hurricanes, flooding and tornadoes. Not re-elected. 7) He has offended nearly the entire world, turned his back on diplomatic cooperation with the United Nations, and encouraged arrogant nationalism at home, ruining the reputation of the American military as liberators and the American government as a bastion of freedom. Not re-elected. 8) He has instituted among the People a Police State which violates the very principles, inherent rights and liberty on which the country was founded, and has held thousands of people prisoner without charges for months and years, including documented torture. Impeachment and prison. 9) His administration is responsible for the vindictive exposure of a covert CIA operative, an act of treason for which someone should be imprisoned. Impeachment, prison, and hopefully deportation. The comparison seems kinda one sidded, as far as actions. Clinton: According to http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/152635.stm , the cost was roughly $40 million. Bush: $200 billion into Iraq and counting....despite the fact that Bush himself has admitted that there is no commection between 9/11 and Iraq. Terrorists: $400,000-$500,000 total (as was estimated by the 9/11 comission) for 9/11 attacks. Good to remember this. Edit: Number 3 was kinda opinionated...sorry! thanks for those stats will ravel. i'm curious about the clinton price tag on the bottom... was that the price of all the investigations and court costs/time?
also, do you have a figure on how much (or little which i suspect it to be) we've spent on investigating that elegant laundry list on bush you compiled? that's why i wrote this thread. while we're on the subject here, i wonder why no rich or empowered opponents of the current administration haven't put for the funds or effort for more of an investigation like starr did for clinton.

I can't image how much political and financial power it would take just to get such an investigation off the ground. A lot of the information is actually out there already, but it is easy for them to simply discredit you or kill you. For example, check out my post in Paranoia about Bush and Bush friends info. I found all of that online, and I've been trying to verify it. A lot of it is not denied by the government. |
