Good Party Affiliation Quiz
http://www.3pc.net/matchmaker/quiz.html
Lib:84 Con:76 Reform:56 Rep:48 Dem:36 Grn:32 Nat:20 I'm not presenting this as a complete absolute label of what you are or implying an internet quiz should be the compass of your votes. I'm throwing it out there to perhaps show you towards other parties that may better represent your views than the Republican or Democratic parties. |
I guess I'm a tree-hugger...
I think I knew that... 1) Green Party 76% 2) Natural Law Party 64% 3) Reform Party 60% 4) Democratic Party 56% 5) Libertarian Party 40% 6) Republican Party 36% 7) Constitution Party 32% |
1) Libertarian Party 59%
2) Green Party 59% 3) Natural Law Party 53% 4) Constitution Party 53% 5) Republican Party 47% 6) Reform Party 41% 7) Democratic Party 35% About what I expected to be. When it comes down to it no party reallly reflects my views but i'm more a republican than a democrat and that's how i usually vote. |
Haha. That's why I'm voting for Michael Peroutka in 2004. The real consitution party candidate. (please note, I didn't even know there was a constitution party candidate running. Guessing he will be a write in, I can't imagine he will actually be on the ballot)
1) Constitution Party 91% 2) Libertarian Party 82% 3) Republican Party 73% 4) Reform Party 36% 5) Democratic Party 18% 6) Natural Law Party 9% 7) Green Party |
1) Libertarian Party 76%
2) Constitution Party 67% 3) Republican Party 48% 4) Reform Party 48% 5) Green Party 43% 6) Democratic Party 33% 7) Natural Law Party 19% Locke7: actually, Peroutka is one of the top candidates in terms of ballot access. However, you may want to look into the Constitution Party's platform. They're a bit kooky. I suspect you would probably be happier with the Libertarian party. |
1) Libertarian Party 79%
2) Constitution Party 71% 3) Reform Party 50% 4) Republican Party 43% 5) Green Party 36% 6) Democratic Party 21% 7) Natural Law Party 21% Never really considered myself a Libertarian! |

2) Democratic Party 72% 3) Natural Law Party 67% 4) Reform Party 56% 5) Republican Party 39% 6) Constitution Party 39% 7) Libertarian Party 33% Somewhat suprising....but not overly so |
Maybe this is why I voted Nader in '00 and liked what Perot had to say before he went totally bonkers.
1) Green Party 68% 2) Reform Party 64% 3) Natural Law Party 59% 4) Democratic Party 50% 5) Libertarian Party 45% 6) Constitution Party 41% 7) Republican Party 36% |

I got a little bored by that quiz, so I didn't think too hard about some of the questions, but
1)Green Party 89% 2)Natural Law Party 74% 3)Democratic Party 63% 4)Reform Party 58% 5)Libertarian Party 26% 6)Republican Party 26% 7)Constitution Party 26% Yeah, that's roughly correct. Left wing all the way. What the hell is the Natural Law Party? It sounds like a bunch of lunatics. Oh my God, it's crazy religious nuts?! How the hell did I end up with that? My whole life is a lie! Or maybe this quiz isn't totally accurate...though it seems pretty solid. |
1) Libertarian Party 72%
2) Reform Party 56% 3) Constitution Party 50% 4) Republican Party 44% 5) Green Party 44% 6) Democratic Party 39% 7) Natural Law Party 33% |

2) Reform Party 65% 3) Natural Law Party 61% 4) Democratic Party 57% 5) Republican Party 48% 6) Constitution Party 48% 7) Libertarian Party 43% Yay. |
Amazing how most people relate more to the greens and libs than the two major parties
|
1) Libertarian Party 83%
2) Constitution Party 72% 3) Republican Party 50% 4) Reform Party 50% 5) Green Party 33% 6) Natural Law Party 28% 7) Democratic Party 22% |

2) Constitution Party 81% 3) Reform Party 63% 4) Republican Party 50% 5) Green Party 31% 6) Natural Law Party 25% 7) Democratic Party 19% About what I expected. |
Seriously, this should be a testament to the change that could happen if we all got off our arses, looked at the parties with more open minds, and voted our conscience. We'd have two new "major" parties in America.

Well it also most of the more definitive positions are held by third parties as are held by individuals. The Democratic/Republican parties are more middle of the road in terms of stances, if you have been watching the debates you'll notice they rarely ever answered the question being asked.
|
While I understand the quiz is biased, most people I know do, after truly analyzing their views, relate to third parties more often. Perhaps not as much as this quiz may make it seem. However, personally I take "3rd Party Central" to be indicative simply of the fact that it attempts to give them equal credence.
|
1) Green Party 56%
2) Libertarian Party 44% 3) Democratic Party 44% 4) Republican Party 44% 5) Natural Law Party 44% 6) Constitution Party 22% 7) Reform Party 11% No wonder I have trouble affiliating with either party.. Or, well, any party.. I'm weird.. |
1) Constitution Party 64%
2) Republican Party 57% 3) Green Party 57% 4) Libertarian Party 50% 5) Reform Party 50% 6) Natural Law Party 43% 7) Democratic Party 29% This is an awfully old survey (1998). It doesn't take terrorism into account, or many other current issues that have become more important recently. |

hi djtestudo!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :) it's me, terpette, from TGW :) how are ya? anywho... my results: 1) Libertarian Party 100% 2) Constitution Party 67% 3) Reform Party 46% 4) Republican Party 42% 5) Democratic Party 29% 6) Green Party 29% 7) Natural Law Party 13% |
1) Constitution Party 67%
2) Republican Party 53% 3) Natural Law Party 53% 4) Reform Party 53% 5) Democratic Party 47% 6) Green Party 47% 7) Libertarian Party 40% I'm about middle of the road according to this. More so leaning right, but kind of what I expected. M, I, I, M, I, I, M, M, I, M, I, D, I, M, I, I, M, I, D, D, D, D, M, M, M are my answers. |
1) Libertarian Party 71%
2) Republican Party 64% 3) Constitution Party 50% 4) Natural Law Party 36% 5) Democratic Party 29% 6) Green Party 14% 7) Reform Party 14% Not very surprising. While it's true that I have a lot of agreements with the Libertarian platform, I also agree a lot with the Republican platform so I vote Republican. Though I can say that in the senate race here in AZ, I don't like McCain so I'm voting Libertarian. edit: out of curiousity, I checked out the constitution party. I think I found the party that the religious right should all join. |
Green Party 88%
2) Natural Law Party 76% 3) Democratic Party 68% 4) Reform Party 64% 5) Republican Party 32% 6) Libertarian Party 28% 7) Constitution Party 28% Makes sense. I voted Green last Federal election (Can.) |
Challenge find answers that will put republican or democrats as #1

1) Libertarian Party 75%
2) Constitution Party 58% 3) Republican Party 50% 4) Democratic Party 46% 5) Green Party 46% 6) Reform Party 46% 7) Natural Law Party 38% Not suprising at all. I've know I'm mostly Libertairan, and slightly more republican than democratic - but not much. What I didn't expect was this Constitution Party. Who the hell are they? I guess I'll have to chack them out. |

Decrease: 16, 25 Increase: 4, 5, 10, An interesting result happens when you play around a bit: Results from all be answered "maintain" except the last one being "increase": 1) Natural Law Party 100% 2) Green Party 100% 3) Reform Party 100% 4) Constitution Party 100% 5) Libertarian Party 0% 6) Democratic Party 0% 7) Republican Party 0% Results from all be answered "maintain" except the last one being "decrease": 1) Libertarian Party 100% 2) Democratic Party 100% 3) Republican Party 100% 4) Natural Law Party 0% 5) Green Party 0% 6) Reform Party 0% 7) Constitution Party 0% That doesn't make sence. |
heh, thankfully, I don't think anyone was claiming this to be a scientific survey :)
|
ibis: It can still be considered scientific. Answers of "maintain" are evidently considered to not count. The main problem I see is that the quiz doesn't capture any sort of nuance.
1) Green Party 73% 2) Libertarian Party 67% 3) Democratic Party 60% 4) Reform Party 60% 5) Natural Law Party 47% 6) Constitution Party 47% 7) Republican Party 33% I am surprised at how high the green party ranks, but who knows. At least the repubs are last. That makes some sense. |

I knew I was libertarian, I just cant vote for a loser in such an important election, so going down my list...it looks like the republican party might get my vote. if I voted like the internet told me to. |
1) Green Party 71%
2) Natural Law Party 65% 3) Democratic Party 59% 4) Republican Party 53% 5) Reform Party 47% 6) Libertarian Party 41% 7) Constitution Party 29% Too bad they don't have a chance in winning. |

Of course, I guess it is fairly obvious that I am moderate by looking at how close together everything is here but I am surprised at which side of moderate these results indicate I am. |
But...

I personally, despite what it could do to the Republican Party, I really do wish people would stop putting forth the "lesser of two evils" argument. I'm just naive enough to believe that the Republicans are all pure of heart ;) |

And I'd vote for Republican before I every voted for those crazy bible thumping constitution party people. |

An other thing to consider is that a 3rd party member has no real power once elected either. They have to throw in with either the Dem or Rep part to get any where in Congress. The whole of the current legislative process is set up to benefit the current TWO major parties and to work against independents or 3rd parties. That is really why there are only parties today. There have been times in history that there were more than two but they were very regional in nature. I very much doubt that we will ever see a truely successful nation 3rd party under the Federal system. |
Actually, nothing was set up to benefit the 2 parties, or any parties for that matter. The founding fathers disliked parties and there were none when they created the constitution.

No, the Constitution does not recognize or add in the two party system but the two parties have made sure that the other rules do add the current system. Quote:

I also think that some form of term limits for both houses of Congress would help with the current lock on the system by the two major parties. Quote:

As it stands now one party controls all business done hands down, if party division eventually lined up more along the lines of American opinion then no party would have an overwhelming majority still allowing for a check and balanaces against the other parties instead of just landslide votes on every policy decision like it is now.

I'm socially liberal, which gives me libertarian points. I'm also basically libertarian on economic issues (blame it on the department up here), but in a sorta different way. I don't think companies should be able to use government power to avoid competition. I'm against protectionism, farm bills, and subsidies. It really comes down to tax policy for me. I think there are areas that the federal government needs to get involved in that a lot of libertarians don't. To me, I assume libertarianism as a starting point, but believe that we can give the government added powers through democracy and mutual consent. Taxation isn't theft, as we expect and receive things in return, for example. |
