Well, the saying goes, you're either part of the problem or part of the solution; or part of the scenery. You're choosing to be a part of the scenery, and that is your 'right'. I for one am going to be a part of the solution, and vote for whom I think is the right candidate for leading our country.

Has it occurred to anyone that our votes really don't matter because of the Electoral College? Apparently everyone here seems to think Bush won the popular vote in 2000. Newsflash: He didn't. But he did win the electoral vote, and that's all that matters. WE do not matter. Period.

The Original King, you might enjoy the book A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn. One of the most memorable parts of the book is when he says when you vote in a presidential election, it doesn't matter who you vote for. Because they are all basically the same, working to keep the higher class in power.

Choosing the lesser of two evils is always better than sitting back and waiting to see what happens. If you had to choose between, say, Bush, Kerry, or... Ryan Seacrest (American Idol's on in the background :)), wouldn't you want to make sure that Seacrest didn't win? And don't say it wouldn't happen, because look at Ahnold.

As for the electoral college, we should get rid of it. I don't remember why it was instated, but it was proved obsolete in the last election.

I've never been a registered member of an actual political party (registered voter...registered as "other), and have never participated in the voting process for any major office.

When I find a topic that I care about, or a candidate that actually gives me something to think about, I vote. So far, the grand total is one. One damn issue that I thought was worthy of my vote.

Otherwise, I just sit back and watch the show.
