Halloween as the War Economy.
Now, I dont know how you all feel about Bush, but personally it seems like he is trying to feul the economy using war as much as he can, straight out of 1984.
Now, if you think about it, halloween just about works on the same principles as a war economy, tons of materials being made, then blasted into nothing on the battle field. But in Halloweens case eating like crazy by kids. So, what I say is that we should just make it Halloween all year round and end war. |
I've also had these thoughts, maybe not involved halloween in them. You can induce a false growth by manufaturing a demand for something, for example supplies for combat. I think you should specify the growth that actualy adds something economicly to society.

If that's true it's working like a bastard (course, it's probably from the tax incentives more then it is all the other little things). You see the GDP growth in the 3rd quarter? 7.2% growth, that's insane considering October is usually ass as far as the economy goes. Ironically, it's the best growth since 1984.

I've always wondered what would happen if instead of war, we had glatitorial combat with the other nations. These battles would take place in huge arenas where the civilians of both sides could sit and watch. Then we would still be able to resolve conflicts violently and we could make lots of money through t-shirts, stickers, tickets and betting.
