France as a failed nation?

Dunno what to make of this Check out http://denbeste.nu/cd_log_entries/20...olutions.shtml

Quote from article

Economically speaking, France is decaying, full speed. Unemployment is officially around ten per cent. If you add the people who have never worked and so are not counted for the statistics, and also add the students who study nothing useful, the right number would be way above fifteen per cent. Growth rate is now officially around one per cent, and it includes government activities: if the government component was not included, it would be easy to see that France is in depression. Her population is growing old, and no money is available to take care of the large number of senior citizens in the years to come. The greater part of young people are Muslim, not integrated with French society, and almost illiterate. ...

There were Muslims in France thirty years ago, but they were not like the Muslims of today. They were moderate, they did not feel they could wield decisive political power in France, they did not think they were at war against western civilization. Now it’s clear that they think they are at war. ...

Within twenty years, Muslims will be a majority in France. And if nothing changes, they will be radical Muslims.

The French government takes care of the present: it knows it cannot take care of the future because there is no future. The French government acts like a traitor to its old allies for many reasons: because it has no principles, because it needs money, but especially because it is afraid of bloody riots. France is not a sovereign nation anymore: it’s partly ruled by the mob, partly ruled from the outside by corrupting Muslim tyrants.

Read all around then comment. This seems like a dangerous trend...Netherlands next?

France has been like a rotten fish. Slowly decaying from the head, for years. I suppose it is hard to recognize the fact that what glory you ever had is in your past - way in you past. France has never learned from history and have been forced to live through it over and over. It is time that the rest of the world looked at France for what it is - and not what it was. The UN needs to demand the books from France on the Iraqi Oil for Food program and make them account for every penny of it. It is extremely easy to see why France has been so concerned with anyone looking at Iraq. They are dirty, they know they are dirty and probably soon, the whole world will realize just how dirty thery have been. The economic problems they have now may only multiply when they have to account for all of the money that has run through that program.

France is indeed "losing it" a bit, in general.

However, there are large numbers of people beginning to see the problems, but as soon as they point them out they are being called fascists. If nothing is done in the near future, then expect something bloodier in more distant future.

I agree with all angles here as everyone has good reason to feel the way they do. One of the most important issues here especailly for the US is the war on terrorism. I recall Germany and France cracking down on cells in their countries that were out to destroy America. Do you think that cooperation will still be there? The CIA cant be everywhere. Our borders arre still open (for the most part) If partnership in this area has been destroyed, thats not a good thing.

David Horowitz is not an economist by trade, so I will take his rhetoric with a grain of salt.

Here's a slightly more sober look at things:

The French havent been anything to write home about in a long long time.
They are living in the past, I really think they would love to dig up Napoleon to get back to their great world domination days.

I think the article is a bit of a stretch. France will be around for many years, like it or not. There are lots of countries with far worse problems.
