You guys never play nice, do you?
Well, I don't know if we'd be better off if he resigned. I think it would be best to pass the torch the traditional way instead of just borrow from the same exec structure we've been using for the past few years.

How about vote for what you agree with. Excuse my french, but fuck anyone who votes party. You are what makes American elections absolutely, stupendously idiotic.
Vote for the best candidate you can find.

I HATE YOU!!! My heart has never jumped so much in my life! I mean, though from the start I was thinking that this was pure rubbish the little hope there was started to creak in and then I was devistated when the inevitable came true and he was still here.

First Cheney should resign, then Bush could nominate a way lefty.
Then he resigns, and then we could get moonchild and flower sue to lead us in a huge national sing along of peace and love songs.

Yeah, we should just forget about how our president was chosen for us by money and closed-door politics rather than through an majority votes or even the electoral college procedures. I mean, what does it matter if the very foundation of our democracy is shown to be a fraud and that gets us appointed leaders? People in the minority communities in particular shouldn't be upset because even though their votes in particular were tossed aside in Florida (particularly Palm Beach county) they should all know that the Florida courts know better than they do rather the their boss's, the governor's, brother was duly elected or not. Forget the implications for democracy, our way of life, civil liberties, the constitution, and higer values like justice. It's all in the past...

The lesser of two evils, maybe? I wonder what the world would be like right now if gore were in office? Maybe better, maybe worse, depending on your alignment. I think we can all agree that if gore were in charge, we wouldn't have a fascist in charge of the attorney general's office. We probably wouldn't be forced to ride along on the neocon expressway to world domination either.
Gore might've actually done something effective about the economy, oooh if only i could slide like jerry o'connel into that dimension. |

Seretogis, the hypocracy here is bordering on insane. You critique me for complaining about Bush while supporting "corrupt career-politicians" but all you do is complain about the complaints made by others. First of all, why do you assume I voted for Gore or that I am an active supporter of the democrats standard issue politicians? I feel very secure in complaining more about the republicans as currently they are the ones that actively endangering many of America's rights and liberties as well as many American lives for causes I do not feel justify such a risk. That isn't to say its an issue of republican vs democrat, perhaps its an issue of who current has power vs who currently doesn't. All I do know is that I do actively support politicians and candidates that offer alternatives to the current woes created by the current adminstration and I'll tell you that most of the solutions are not coming from republicans at this time because they are to afraid to go toe to tow against G W.

I didn't make a blind assumption of your political stance, I've read many of your posts, and I think that this line from you pretty much gives me the fuel that I needed for my initial post: Quote:

Thats merely a statement of fact not an endorsement of certain types of behavior. While I do think that any one of the democratic candidates would do better than Bush that doesn't mean I vote for standard issue politicians. I voted Nader in 2000 and I plan on voting Kucinich in the primaries. We'll have to see how the general election pans out, but I would consider voting for Dean but I don't know who the Greens will run (if anyone) or any independents. I won't likely vote Libertarian because I don't share their values on many issues. Theoretically, I am more of a European style Social Democrat, but for practical purpose in American politics I fall somewhere between the greens and the liberal democrats.
Heh, sorry for the tangent but thanks for asking ;-)
