I assume everyone here is aware of the Bob Novak article that outed Joseph Wilsons wife, Valerie Plame as a covert CIA operative which destroyed network shortly thereafter.

I heard this was payback for Wilson's ratting out the fake African uranium claims from Bush's speech. Are they only just bothering to cover up their political mafia hits these days?

Rove, that evil little fat bastard, has a tremendous amount of power for someone who was neither elected by america nor confirmed by congress for any position in government.

He really is a highly dangerous individual.

Karl Rove is by far one of the best political game players there has ever been. He's vindictive, patient, and wholely willing to destroy the carreers and lives of those who're on his "bad side" that day.

my problem with this is that it doesn't seem subtle enough to be Rove who leaked that information.

Rove is inferior compared to Carville. That guy is able to counter any smear tossed at a democrat. Without stooping to their level.

I think you give Rove too much credit. This seems to me to be the exact kind of vindictive behavior I have witnessed from him for the past 3 years. He takes pleasure in destroying honest people.

maybe so, but karl rove's career goes back more than 3 years.

what i've secretly hoped for is that he's got a tumour or syphilis. something that's gradually making him insane and unpredictable, therefor unreliable.

The only place I am hearing about this story is on some fringe websites. Are there any other, more reliable sources for this information?

I generally think of Rove as a souless bastard, but this is pretty serious stuff. I don't think that is necessarily out of the realm of possibility, I just don't like to get my info from questionable sources.

Well the best source so far is Bob Novak who wrote the article and said that the source was a senior administration official.

He wouldn't elaborate any further.

And this is the first I have heard so far about someone actually being accused of it. And the accusation is coming from Joseph Wilson himself, who is the actual target of what happened.
