Australia gets its 1st female PM as Rudd ousted - Yahoo! News

Is this a common thing? I know Australia didn't make it to the next round in the World Cup, but axing the leader of your country over it might be a little much.

Did this come out of nowhere? Are the Australians on here surprised or didn't you like Rudd? I think that this should have happened because of the internet censorship stuff, and taking 3 years to finally get the World Court to hear the case against Japan whaling in their waters.

Or is there some 'other' reason he was replaced that nobody will know about now? Do you think that someone found some dirt on him and was blackmailing him, forcing him to resign?
