No, no, no Roachie, that's not what I meant at all. Your points are more complex. I simply didn't have a complex answer so I went with the short as a "time filler" or a jumping point.
The current affair is very messy to say the least. To parse it out and disseminate it with any meaningful analysis would take a bit more time for me. We have the US and allies (NATO, Pakistan, Afghanistan) mired in a conflict with the Taleban and Al-Qaeda. The enemy is not always apparent and there is collateral damage: civilian casualties, no real measurable success. Now we have tensions with one ally, the Pakistanis. They won't/can't do their part so the US has taken upon itself to do what needs to get done. But this action offends the Pakistanis so they retaliate. We end up fighting each other while the enemy laughs at us. What a mess.
