I would use crab #2, sea lion #5 and remove #7 (since it doesn't seem to fit with rest of the pics)
|
oh...and can I have a calender for helping out
|
I'd choose Crab #1 because the crab isn't centered in the photo.
I'd choose Sea Lion #6 because it doesn't look like a photo you could capture in a zoo.
I'd dump the bird in Photo #4 because of the poor lighting on the bird. |

Guys, #7 is one of the nicest landscapes he's shared with us. |
Im not saying its not a nice picture, but I like it least of all the ones he put up....it just has nothing that grabs my attention...crab#1 would have been a good picture, but I didnt like the fact the the crab was facing away from me..there is something about sealion#6 that creeps me out and I like the bird that you dont because of the baby included in it
|
crab one.
sea lion five. ditch picture seven. (honest I'm not really being controlled by Shani) |
Crab #1
Sea Lion #6 Lose #8 (could be anywhere) |
Crab #1
SeaLion #6 Lose #10 - looks somehow lightened too much |
why does everybody like the backwards crab  lose 10? I love the look of whatever that creature is
|
Crab #1 -- it's the best compositionally speaking
Sea Lion #6 -- #5 is nice but a bit mushy... if mushy is good go with #5 Lose #8... it could be anywhere and the ship is just out of place. |
funny...just goes to show that everyone likes different thinks. I was leaning towards sea lion 3 (i love the textures in his fur, especially around his ear), and I was thinking about ditching a crab one altogether (those are ditchable, in case you guys didnt know), or maybe the yellow iguana.
The reason I didn't want to ditch 7 is because there are only 3 landscapes, and I don't want the calendar to be completely dominated by animals. Same logic with 8, plus that is the ship we went on so is kinda a memento. As for 4, I really want a shot of a naska booby, but I agree with the lighting...I will look back for more pictures. Good imputs guys, keep them coming |
Crab #1 - I like the contrast between the orange and green.
Sea Lion #5 - It's just cute. Lose #7 - Doesn't fit with the rest of the pics. |
Ok, here is a new version of crab1 that I am much happier with...do you guys like it better? worse?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...p/crab1new.jpg Also, I redid the naska booby one, does the lighting look better? (all the ones with good lighting were in profile form >:| ) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3.../naska2new.jpg |
Crab3 - It really stands out, but still in balance with the rest of the picture (The original version. The "doctored" one is a little too intense to look at a whole month)
Sealion5 - Simply adorable Ditch no.10 - It's kind of messy and disturbing. Also looks a little too brigth (some of the bird seems burned out) Overall: GREAT SHOTS!!! |
Crab one is best. (unaltered, I think)
Sea Lion 5 is best. Lose either picture 8 or 9. Eight because it could be anywhere, nine 'cause of all the poop! ;) |
I like Crab 1 (version 1), Sea Lion 5 and get rid of pic nine.
Btw, those are some really amazing photos. |
first of all, you guys are under the guise (what a pun...or something) that first "crab1" I posted was the original...far from it. In the original one, the crab was blown out because the shell is reflective and he was sitting at the PERFECT angle to reflect the sunlight:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...p/craborig.jpg so needless to say, a considerable amount of editing went into both versions. I may have been overzealous in the contrast/saturation of the second one, but on the first one the legs have very unnatural looking shadows and outlines (you probably can't see them in the condensed version here) that piss me off big time. So I might tone down the second one, or do a new one, but I will not use the first. Thanks for the imput, keep it coming |
Crab # 1 - whichever version
Seal # 1 Lose #8 - doesn't seem in theme with the higher amounts of color in the rest of the pictures, and hard to really see any detail because of time of day. |
Crab #1- the contrast is nice between the green and the orange, the composition is good with the crab off center. crab 2 is a great photo, but i question whether your friends and family want to be stared at by a close-up crab for 30 days, same with crab 3.
Sea Lions #5 - as said before, it's just darn adorable. i don't like 1 because i think the sand is the focus, 2 the focus is on the boat, not the sea lions, 3 and 4 make me feel a little off balance, plus i think they are too close, the same for 6, like the crab, i'm not sure people want to feel like they are being "watched" people like to look, not be looked at. not to say that you can't pull off a certain "shared experience" by having the subject looking back at the viewer, but i don't think any of those 3 pulled that off. In the last ones i would get rid of #2 because the focus is on his head, which i think is too small for the frame of the photo... i wish his shell had more detail to it, kinda like a peacock feeling, but it doesn't... |
I like these pictures, and I want to eat sebastian there.
