so as i was eating cup o'noodles yesterday (poor college student), i heard some scurrying. i looked around and saw nothing. went back to eating and heard it again. looked and still nothing. so i finish eating without hearing it again so i thought it was the wind.
fast forward to today. i walked downstairs to look for something to eat and again, cup o'noodles looks like it'll be it. then i saw something on the floor.... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...z/DSCN1035.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...z/DSCN1034.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...z/DSCN1033.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...z/DSCN1032.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...z/DSCN1030.jpg oh yeah, i caught it in a bucket. took these pictures and then.....with my cup o'noodles and my hunger.....i let it go in the backyard. |
You should've let him stay in the house, they're great for pest control!! When I lived in Texas we solved a recurring cockroach problem by releasing a couple of geckos in the kitchen :) We one of them every few weeks, but they're very clean and got rid of the pests!

Reminds me of a mouse i once found in my flat. I think you should have ate it.

here in costa rica, we have very similar to those everywhere...they eat many insects....

Cool shots. Wouldn't want to have one around though (not that that would be very likely where I live :p).

Cool! Would love to have a reptile as a pet! Find me a Komoto! Ah... the Black Market can be my friend!
Again, cool subject! |

They studying their blood to try get better antibiotics, since they don't get sick from their own mass of nasty shit in their mouths. |
They have some baby komodo dragons at the Toronto Zoo (as well as grown one...). They get very big.
When I was golfing in Singapore, I hit into the rough and as I wandered into get my ball, one of my companions said, "Maybe you should ask him where it is." I looked where he was pointing and there, not 3 metres from me, was a Monitor Lizard. It was slightly less long than I am tall and it was looking right at me. As soon as I made a nervous laugh he bolted into a nearby culvert. Freaked me out to say the least. |
Cute!! I caught a lizard like that and kept him as a pet! :)

nice pics!
last summer my cat brought in a lizard's tail. he was playing with it? it was flopping all around & freaking me out. i got it into the trash though. a week later i found the rest of the lizard inside of my clothes closet! eek!!! got a bucket, trapped it & released it outdoors. i guess they grow their tails back, right? i like them in my yard. not inside my home. |
That is the cutest thing I've ever seen :) I'm glad you let him go.

Adorable little guy . . . :) he's probably running around happily outside now thanks to you. . . .

What kind of camera did you use to get such good close ups? Also the clarity and resolution is amazing; very crisp.

What an adorable beast! I wish it were nice enough in Toronto for lizards to live happily.
