I went to a place in n. Georgia called Sky Valley it is in the Smokey mountains on the N. Carolina border, our friends have a cabin there and we spent 5 days hiking and driving around the small towns...I have a million pics, if there is anything that interests you that you might like to see more of let me know

Part of the valley(the valley floor is a golf course)

a sunset in the Smokies

White Water falls

Bridal veil falls

I don't remember the name of this one, but you can walk behind it , that was cool

a fall on the side of the road...people up there just pull over and go swimming

a mountain top lake

gem mining

the original town hall mound in Helen

We climbed a hill in the valley..they usually sled down it when it snows

Glen falls...this one has multiple drops..it's a 2 hour hike from top tp bottom, but worth it

Wow, veruca - those are absolutely amazing! I agree with Mal, those waterfalls are absolutely gorgeous. I think my favorite one though is the mountain top lake - you got the colors and the haze just right. I can't imagine how much more amazing it was at original resolution.

HEY!!! you were where we always go...anytime we have a saturday free we go up there...in fact we were there this weekend....friday and monday (we stayed in murphy)

Tallulah is always a great place to go....last time we were up there, it was when Ivan hit and they had 7 of the flood gates on the dam open

Looks like some gorgeous country. Pictures never seem to do these jusice, do they? I'm sure that it's much more spectacular in person, as the pictures themselves are simply amazing.

that's awesome shani-faye..maybe we can meet up when we go again...we r thinking of going in the summer

and yes, it is amazing and gorgeous...pictures never do it justice

veruca just let us know!! we dont live too far from there at all (about a 2 hour drive, which we can make in our sleep) there are SO many places up there to go

The one you can walk behind....was that Grotto? We spent part of our honeymoon at the Hippensteal, when it was smaller and less expensive. Hiking the waterfalls and trails of the Smokies is one of my favorite things to do. There is no place like it.
