More Fall Colors...Maybe a Halloween Twist!

Let me show you another set of Autumn colors, but shot in one of my favorite places. A beautiful old Victorian cemetary. With almost 15 miles of roads, there's something new to discover every time I visit.

Here's a nice link about this place to check out: http://www.fomh.org/Tour/sunday.htm

Are you scared yet?

Great use of color! I really like how the first picture has just the smattering of color in the left. Makes a dramatic contrast.

man! a cemetary has never looked so alive! nor so outstoundingly colorful.

your juxtapostion of the cold grey stones against the vibrant backdrops is just beautiful.

Amazingly so, and in all four seasons.

It really is a place that would be suitable for all camera and film types. You would feel equally inspired setting up your 4x5 view camera, as you would with your point and shoot digital.

Thanks all, I'm glad you enjoyed these. Never quite sure what reaction to expect from the graveyard.

PJ: your photos bring a tear to my eyes. So beautiful.
So photographically inspiring. So educated.

I have been away for quite some time. My dear wife was diagnosed with breast cancer in July, and my involvement with things that used to entertain me has been wiped out. I was laid off of my job shortly thereafter, which didn't help. I try to grasp what I might take photos of in this altered state, and have come up with a few ideas but have not yet acted on them. Most seem to center around headless people, barren fields, and incomplete framing. I know I must capture this, but it is difficult to get myself out on such missions.

Thank you for your always amazing posts. Gorgeous.

juju, I just want you to know my prayers are with during this difficult stretch. I hope things are improving for you and mrs. jujueye, and please PM me any time you want to talk.

You've been in the pj photographic corner since day 1, and I certainly appreciate that. Just know that now I and the others in this Forum are certainly in the jujueye corner.

God bless, bro.

Thank you pj. I didn't want to gum up your post, but your photos just commanded me to do so!

So I want to get your thread back on course.

The first photo is shocking. It almost looks like a colorized B&W. Awesome! I took a double-take at it! And the sixth photo has such incredible depth of field. Almost looks like a photoshop cutout overlayed on a great fall scene. Neato. The twin mausoleums are beautifully divided with one red tree that stands out. Damn. These are great.

She was gently fading into the sunset, so you actually gave her a brief respite...
