black laquer spray paint...
the latest victim object:
a new tabletop with only a couple of layers of primer coat that will go atop these table legs from a wonderful old chippendale table my mom basically mutilated 3 decades ago... just for the sake of being able to put a tablecloth & cheap glass top over. tsk the black laquer craze all began with this 19" diameter clock... it was a dark walnut color with a gold trim band like a filet. that was not going to work with my new decorating scheme. enter black laquer spray paint! :) then i did this old antique dining chair that i bought 15 yrs ago for $12. previously it look like this... i still need to hit the fabric store & find something wonderful to re-cover the seat with. i've done a few picture frames. that's an old chalk pastel sketch of my first 3 furry children. [h] i moved on to wicker next. here's a candy basket & a magazine rack, which were both just raw wicker prior to spraying. not the best photos, but hopefully you can get the general idea. i don't want to part with a few of my basically worthless to anyone but me items, but i wanted to somehow make them all tie together & mesh with the newer more comtempory look i am reaching for (albeit somewhat eclectic). we'll see how it goes! |
Now don't you go blaming stuff on your mom. I mean, after all she did have to put up with a weirdo like you all these years. :D
But thanks for the insights bernie. It's nice to see you put priorities on candy also. |
Those look awesome chica!! I love that sketch, too cute!! Who knew it could be as cheap as a can of paint to bring stuff together!! *ponders what she can spray, besides hubby ;)*
