Disc Golf in the Fall

Went out for a couple rounds of Disc Golf this morning and it turned out to be a great morning for it. Probably made a little nicer by the fact that it's Thanksgiving tomorrow making this a long weekend here up North.

Anyway, here's some pictures I took out there.

Played 27 holes this morning and shot 4 over par on the first 18, then Even for the last 9. Good times.

Now I'm off for turkey dinner.

Disc Golf is great.. I love the game. Haven't played in a while but seeing this post might just get me back on the course soon.. I'm lucky enough to have alot of amatuer courses close by as well as some great pro courses.

thanks for sharing

Thanks for sharing the disk golf pics. I haven't played since last summer, I wish I had gotten out this year.

Next time, show us some pictures of people actually throwing the disk. Some action pictures, you know? People make great expressions as they throw.

mosha,

It is golf but with a frisbee. The 'holes' (baskets) are placed strategically so you have to make the frisbee (disc) curve and go far to make it to the basket.

See pic...

You have to make it fall into the basket part of this contraption. You do this by making it hit the hanging chains. This knocks down the disc and it falls in the basket. You count how many times you have to throw it from the 'tee' to the basket and that is you score. Most real courses have 18 holes just like regular golf. But there are nine hole courses.

It really is quite popular. Lots of times the courses are set up on actual golf courses with the holes obviously being shorter that regulation golf holes.

Lots of fun and as you can see by sherpahigh's excellent photos, a great excuse to get out in the outdoors and have some fun.
