July 3rd sunset and Fireworks (56k beware)

Our town holds their fireworks show on the 3rd every year so as to not compete with the larger show in the city. Unfortunately, they didn't launch them as high it seemed this year, so our great spot at the elementary school was less than stellar. Next year I guess we'll have to fight the traffic and see them from the park like everyone else. Anyway.... here are some shots of the show, and the sunset before the show... oh, and one artsy time lapse shot I got of everyone leaving.

I took lots of shots, and though they aren't great photography, they are some cool, some dull, and some are at least neat fireworks regardless. So, if you missed seeing a firework show this year at least you can see something ;).

My favorite shot, and incidentally, first shot of the night

In larger res, it looks better. I like how the scene feels because the fireworks are way off in the distance, and you can pick up on how far away we are, and I like the fact the firework is reflected in the hood of the car.

Now for the fireworks

Thanks for showing me these. Those are some fantastic firework photography. In looking at his details on the images, he used a Canon Digital Rebel, which surprises me. I'm also surprised he got as much detail and crispness from the exposure times he was using. Hell, if I had used 6 seconds mine would have been blurry and streaky as can be. I think maybe I had more wind, and distance from the fireworks in my shots.. I know for sure I didn't have as good a setting obviously.
