Yesterday we went to visit one of the local state parks, Koreshan Unity Settlement.

Here is a little history:

In short, the settlement was established by a religious group from Chicago who believed that we actually live inside the earth rather than upon it...or that is what I think I understand, lol.

Anyway, here's some pictures I took there. A lot of them were taken through glass which accounts for the weird reflections...which I kind of like:

Nicely done. The colors are very rich. This one is my #1 favorite, followed by the old TV. I might like to borrow this one sometime for an album cover, etc.

a few pics that were hanging in the museum:

the koreshan orchestra

the 'new store' (the old store had burnt down)
this building is still standing, but we couldn't see inside of it

an old gentleman (German) who figured highly in the unity movement...haven't looked into his significance as of yet

dining hall (no longer standing. torn down.)

Interesting place, mixed. Takes all kinds to believe the earth is flat, or hollow!

I agree with paddyjoe... the one with the suitcase is my favourite. I can't decide if it feels like a new arrival or the promise of departure.
