It is like I've been here before

Manic panicked, so it seems I'm here back again.
I went to my homeland. It is a small town in Kazakhstan where I haven't been for 8 or 9 years. Not sure they missed me so much :)

Here are some random shots. I still don't know what can I do here except taking pictures, listening to Svarte Greiner and a kind of working out in a random gym.

Their new mosque.

It says: "Household stuff repairing" or something like that. And don't even ask why there are these minaret things.

It's... uhm... When I was child I hated this train very much.

This word, "Tokta" means "Stop" in kazakh language.

Nice shots. Thanks for coming back. These are superb.

Not really relevant, but still:

Also intriguing to see that you can embed a link from a flickr page into the photo, 'cause every time I try to wrap a onto an [IMG], it whacks out harshly. How'd you do it; does it involve trackbacks or, did you turn off the "automatically embed media" box?

nettuno 07-13-2009 12:38 PM

Thank you )

It is very easy actually. The code should be like this: [img]your image url[/ img][/ url]

wow! i loved these shots.

the mosques there are built vastly different than here in the mid east.

Good to see you back, Nettuno,

I'm still jealous of your colors - 1,2, and 3 especially. The train shots just feel like home.

Nice work. You'll have to send me some film recommendations (again.)

Thank you. It was a Kodak Portra VC 160 as I remember and my favorite very yellow photo filter. Yes, it is very yellow (4x, I suppose) and very old so I can see the world as it could be like 30 years ago :)
I also tried new Kodak film — Ektar. It is amazing!

Fabulous! I was just thinking about you the other day. Thanks for coming back.

mixedmedia 07-13-2009 02:06 PM

The childhood rocket train seems like such a fun thing!

fiatguy85 07-13-2009 08:48 PM

These are excellent shots! Very good use of the light.

nettuno 07-14-2009 10:05 AM

In Kazakhstan the light uses you )

Well, really the sun here is three times brighter than in St.-Petersburg.
