Portraits with a new lens
A Tokina 100mm f/2.8 lens. I got into such a rush to use the thing that I forgot to check the ISO. Sometimes, I can't get out of my own way. I shot these at 3200.
Anyway... this is my daughter. Fortunately, she's a patient model and she won't mind reshooting. :) http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3331/...9c6a596a99.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3586/...394cde0659.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3573/...d8d4376c74.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3348/...26aef9a098.jpg |

I ended up returning the lens. Out beyond eight feet, it had a front focus problem. Always seemed to focus a few inches in front of the target.

What body are you shooting with?
I just sent my 24-70 2.8 back to Nikon. It also had focusing issues. :( are you going to get another Tokina, or go with a Sigma instead? I am torn between a few lenses in that range myself, but am considering a macro lens, which can hopefull double as a good portrait lens. |
I shoot with Nikon D300. Right now, I'm going to just wait before I get another lens. The 50mm is working well, but I'll eventually just go with the 85mm f/1.8 from Nikon. For now, I'm probably just going to buy more strobes. :)
