St. Petersburg Beach, Florida
 

Had a much needed and appreciated weekend respite recently and managed to take some photos while I was there.
It felt so good to hold my camera and walk around taking pictures. I never have time for that anymore.
I was happy with quite a few of them, too, which is rare. So I thought I would drop in and whore them out at TFP. :)

All of the beach photos were taken on the same afternoon at about 5pm or so...the storm came in very quickly...the wind was blowing wildly. I was loving the wind until the sand started to shave the flesh off my bones. Then it was time for more margaritas...inside...in bed.

the hotel...our room was on the 5th floor...just below the two rooms with closed shutters...the view was spectacular, sunsets every night.

...and, that's right, I haven't had my sensor cleaned, yet...not to mention, now I think there is sand in my camera.

I'm taking my camera to see Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on Monday. I'm hoping to catch come frantic pre-election fervor.

Those are beautiful pics. I miss that beach. I lived a couple doors down from the Don Cesar (big pink hotel in your pics) for a couple years.

Cool! So do people who live there have to pay to get in and out of St. Petersburg Beach, as well. I got a kick out of that.

lol, I am well aware of my dust bunnies. I was going to send the camera back to Nikon to be cleaned...but the thought of sending it away frightens me a little.

so I put up with them. for now.
