So I prespent my stimulus check a few weeks ago on a Nikon D80 and I've been in love ever since. Can't go lens shopping until the end of the week so I've been shooting only with the 18-55VR lens and while I feel limited with the minimal zoom range - the pictures are stunning.

Here's a few of my favs so far. Sorry if they're too big for some of you but resizing them any smaller wouldn't do them any justice. Comments and critiques appreciated. Shot RAW - minimally processed.

I really like the 85th and Park!

I love the ones of Jones Beach. I have seen many concerts there and I have never seen a site like that in the 2nd photo. Nice photos.

How are you liking the Nikon?

I'm a Canon person myself, but recently I've toyed with the idea of changing it up and getting a Nikon.

So far, I'm in love. From the grip, to its heft and to the buttons - everything seems really well thought out and it certainly shows (at least for me) when I spend more time getting the shots I want than I do shifting through menus. A bit pricey but well worth it.

The D80's a great camera. The Mrs and I bought one last year and have taken some great sports related shots. Love the sunset pic. Thanks for sharing.

I really like them all - and mention #3 - you saw the way the buildings cut the blue sky into tonal, almost geometric sections, and you were able to give your vision to us. Great stuff :)

Fraqzna, not my first SLR but my first DSLR. It's so awesome I find myself wondering how I ever shot with anything less.
