i looooove flying =)
|
Awesome shots of perspective!

Cool shot of the twatter. How's your training going?
|
The shot are great. But hows the flying coming?
|
Thanks guys. Training is going well... I think. Haven't got to the landing stuff, but the last two flights I spent the majority of the time using instrument goggles. Still trying to get a good feeling for the aircraft. I've found that the difference between too little input and way WAY too much seems to be measured in millimeters.

In the picture of 63W, what's burning downrange?

Definitely land something soon though. |

The flying part isn't a big mystery to me. I've been around aviation for most of my life. Developing a disciplined scan and better coordinating my climbing and descending turns is more of a challenge, so that's been the focus. Quote:

Training update... Today, I flew my first solo. I was probably pretty close to the solo in late June, but the aircraft was down for engine inspection for a few weeks, followed by a problem with the nosewheel (again for a few weeks).
Here I am on my first take off: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3103/...beff8f2b7a.jpg ...and here's the first landing: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3121/...85a2c644b2.jpg My daughter took both of these pictures. |
Congrats dude! Looks good to me.
BTW I've had a Cessna doing some fight patterns over the beach and near my house lately. The first morning I watched him I almost thought he was going up for sky divers. Like he was corkscrewing for altitude. Last two weeks he's been at it three or four days a week. Figure eights, ovals, stalls etc... Must be doing some flight training? *sigh* I miss flying. |

Are they processed or using a filter, or do you just have an amazing coloured sky?
|
Nice touch and go.
What temp and elevation where you're at? I did most of my time at near sea level in pretty mild temp. I took a trip down to Lake Tahoe one summer. Used almost all of the runaway to land and take off. |
It was 85 or 90 degrees or so. Altitude is 2400 feet. Done correctly, you can land here with 1500 feet or less.
When it's 105 or hotter, things get interesting. -----Added 6/9/2008 at 09 : 44 : 33----- Quote:
