:) lovely pictures, though I'm curious why you call them "Latter Day Photographs"?
|
Thank you. :)
Only because they are some of the most recent ones I've taken. Just being silly really. |
simplistic photographs at their best - Orlando's a great city. ;)
|
I have this strange attraction to very minimalist photographs and compositions that force objects into uncomfortable spaces - if that makes any sense.
That being said, I think that the tree, the power lines, the horizontal shot of the building, and the 4th photo from the top (a floodwall?) belong in a gallery. |
Thanks, guys. You give me a boost of much-needed confidence. The only people who really see these are people who love me and I can never be sure whether they're just being nice when they say they like them, lol.
|
I'm another that agrees with the tree - I always feel like less is more in some aspects - it really forces me to evaluate what is actually in there, and I am often surprised.

You have a unique eye and a way of composing your shots that is inherently artistic. Keep taking pictures--they're wonderful.

I really like the mood of the second portrait. The cropping and the range of highlights make it very appealing. It's too bad the lightest part of the highlights (right part of her face) are blown out. If you have any detail left there I'd try to salvage it in Photoshop and see if you can bring down the overall "very high-key" image to just "high-key" :) Regardless...it's a nice portrait.
I like the shed/shack with the wood pallets in front. Also the fish...very cool! |
Thank you! Unfortunately I'm not terribly skilled with making subtle changes in photoshop. I really should take a class or something. But yes, I know exactly what you mean. I loved the character in the photo but unfortunately I didn't gauge the light with much skill. I'm still just teaching myself how to do this.

As one who is nuturing his photographic/graphical muse (and vice versa), I Am grateful for your sharing, mm. And I Am learning right along with you...

These ones speak to my muse.... |
Nice work. Were these shot with a digital camera, or are they film shots run through a scanner?
|
Thank you. :)
They are digital photographs. |
There's something so atmospheric about b/w pics. I really liked those in particular...the portraits are gorgeous too.
I liked the monkey as well. |
Great shots and a large surprise. With "Big Love" ending tonight I was thinking another direction. Really like the perspective on the power lines.
|
Stunning pics :)
