Why are the accidents the best ones?Participatory)
We as the PGR participated in a 'Welcome Home' parade today(yes, we rode in this frigid weather!). I took over 50 photos-this one was supposed to be an over-the-shoulder shot, but I forgot I had the camera zoomed in.
Show us your 'best accidents' ![]()

Kudo's for braving the elements to honor one (or more) of our returning heros!

I think accidents are oft-times the best because of the spontaneous nature to them. We don't pay that much attention to composition or lighting or anything. And sometimes, the accidental photos wind up better in terms of both composition and lighting. I went to Germany last year and when I got bored, I'd just go out and take photos completely at random. And one of my favourite photos I made was of this windmill in Xanten:
![]() I didn't plan it at all. Literally just pointed and shot. Same with this one, taken not fifty feet down the road: ![]() This following one was more of a pure accident as I forgot to turn on the flash. Three of my friends and I (still in Germany) were out on the patio of a bar and we were a bit drunk: ![]() Maybe it's just me, but I like this one a lot. And the blurriness gives the photo an added inebriation effect.

ngdawg, that shot is priceless! You have captured patriotism and honor at it's best!
Pogue Mahone, I really like the windmill shot, the angle from below is very unique as most windmills, at least all I've seen don't have a lower level. With the blue sky and clouds dancing above a great shot!

The best time to take pictures on peoples is when they are not waiting for... They are more... natural, true !
What I like to do when someone is waiting for a picture, I tell them I'll be ready soon, I take the picture and then I tell them to get ready (another shot can't be bad if the first one isn't good ;-) Accidenental picture are often not so good, but like for clamps, sometime you discover a pearl in it. You've got a nice one :-) |

Great shot, nonetheless, and I am assuming that the pic was not supposed to come out that way, right?

![]() A smiling giraffe. ![]() Unintentional famly portrait. ![]() Same theme as the previous. Not entirely accidental, though if you've ever tried to photograph a small child on a scooter...
